1040ste to phillips cm8833 cable...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm looking for a cable to connect my 1040ste to a Phillips CM8833 d-SUB input - is there one available, or does anyone know what I'd need to make one - I'm handy enough with cabling, but haven't done any for years and would need a pin-diagram for both ends of the cable... Thanks!

I don't see 13-pin DIN plugs on Maplin anymore, so you'll have to look elsewhere for them. In Germany, reichelt.de would be a good source (item SE-DIO 13).

okkkkkk... found the papers... here we go...

on the commodore monitor specifications photocopy i have this:

PIN # ---> TTL RGB ---> ANALOG RGB

1 ---> GROUND ---> GROUND

2 ---> GROUND ---> GROUND

3 ---> RED ---> RED

4 ---> GREEN ---> GREEN

5 ---> BLUE ---> BLUE

6 ---> INTENSITY ---> NOT USED

7 ---> NOT USED ---> COMPOSITE SYNC.

8 ---> HOR. SYNC ---> HOR. SYNC

9 ---> VERT. SYNC ---> VERT. SYNC

this is for the DB-9 side on the monitor... then on my scribbled, 14 year old notes, i have:

DB9 commodore ---> Atari ST DIN 13 pin

1 and 2 (ground) ---> 13

3 (red) ---> 7

4 (green) ---> 6

5 (blue) ---> 10

6 NOT USED

7 (composite) ---> 2

8 (hor. sync) ---> 9

9 (ver. sync) ---> 12

if you need to buy parts in europe like the 13-pin DIN, i can mail them to you on one condition... if you make a cable for you, you´ll make one for me too... never had soldering hands myself... :P

i´ll provide the parts... :)
