Future Jaguar games by the community; what would you like to see?

(I decided to kill the first thread due to stupidity on my part)

 

I'll re-post my first message to start things off again:

 

I'm really excited about the projects being worked on by the community (especially Madbodies!) and I think we're in for a big treat once these games are finally released.

 

My eyes glaze over with anticipation every time I consider future projects by these talented individuals.

 

I'd like to know if we will ever see a solid 2D / 3D fighting game on the Jaguar. I hope this is something some of you may consider! I'm a big fan of fighting games, and while Ultra Vortek is starting to grow on me, I can't help but wonder if something better is looming on the horizon for us (or at least being considered).

 

I'd like to ask what type of games the community would like to see from the talented teams currently developing software. I'd like to see a solid fighter with 8-16 selectable warriors, combos, counters, solid game play, smooth controls, and maybe even hidden characters to fight. I'm a big fan of 2D fighting games but I would still welcome a 3D fighter with open arms.

 

It was stated somewhere (I wish I could remember the thread) that 3 buttons wouldn't be sufficient enough for a fighting game, but if SNK could work with the Neo-Geo's 4-button configuration, there is no reason that a 3-button setup (like the one on the Jaguar's controller) couldn’t suffice.

 

Let's discuss the possibilities!.

I would love to see a Diablo style RPG on the Jag. We need some more RPG's and this is my favorite type. The original playstation had a Diablo port so I am sure that the Jag could handle this type of game

It was difficult to decide, as I would like to see something (or more) from EACH genre released!

 

But, I had to choose one, so I picked "racing". I would love to see a very solid "Ridge Racer" type title on the system.

I know one that already is in 3D: S.T.U.N. Runner

 

But I'd like to see more 3Dish tracks (loops, jumps and the like), more shooting, better effects, and - of course - shaded polygons.

Oh no, not Galaxian 3D again. This has already been done by Gremlin Graphics on the ST ("3D Galax"), and it's booooring.

 

If you want that type of game, have a look at Namco's Starblade instead.

 

Well, "Bosconian 3D" would also be nice.

That depends on how much your program differs from the crap program (well except for the tune) I know,

just try it with STEem, 3D Galax is the 4th program on this disk.

 

And it got a whopping 41% score by the German magazine Happy-Computer back in the days.

But Id love to see a good shooter on the Jag more so towards the 2-d side with HUGE boss battles and pretty backgrounds. Native is nice but since that will never happen I say maybe an overhead shooter....Or even better a contra rip-off.

I for one am not a big RPG fan...like at all.....So you wont see me coding one for the Jag unless

the money is good and big.

 

That does not mean that Scott or Terance would'nt want one though.

 

We plan to release simple yet fun to play games. The graphics are

secondary to us.

 

 

I just posted a list of all the game we have planned. Those are the title to look forward to.

...at least a few of them hopefully.
