Local Wirelss Network play with 2 XBOX 360s

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to link two Xbox 360s together for a local network play using the wireless adpaters on both boxes? Currently, it appears that 2 live Gold accts are needed to do this going through an ISP.

Using wireless adapters on the 360's going to a router or access point should work without an issue. They just need to be on a LAN (or even over the internet with the use of a tunnel like xbconnect or xlink kai.)

So my situation is as follows: 2 Xbox 360s in the same house (different rooms. Both with wireless access to my ISP). I am not sure how to setup a local LAN through my ISP. I guess, I download XBOX Connect to my PC and the instructions are pretty straight forward?!?!

I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the help.

Do you have a wireless ISP that these machines are directly connecting to or does your ISP come into a router that your machines are connecting to?

We have cable modem with a wireless router. This is how we get onto the internet.

BTW: XBOX Connect appears to spport a limited range of games (Maybe I read an older site).

Thanks,

If you are using a router you don't need the xbox connect software. You only need that if you want to play with someone over the internet through system-link (as opposed to using XBox Live.) With a router you have a LAN connection so all you need to do is connect both to the wireless and then start a system link game. The other system should see it.
