supercat #27 Posted January 8, 2009 Since no more than two colors can be shown on a single 8-pixel line/space, I would assume that the little marker would have to move at 1/2 space at a time (horizontally). I would think Venetian Blinds would be the right approach. Limit the size of the QIX bouncy thing to 64 pixels so it could be drawn using a 4x4 cluster of sprites on half the frames; on the other half of the frames, the player and sparks would be drawn (once the sparks split, their flicker speed would drop to 15fps, but they're sparks so they should flicker).
