Found an unseual problem with 360...

Recommended Posts

Ok, I finely got my friend to convert to X-box, and he got him the arcade one with the games discs. Well, he actually lives in town, so he gets DSL and has XBL (lucky bastid) Uh...except a week ago, his connection up and left. All he can get is the system says "blah blah couldint find surver" or something. Well, I'm an idiot to computery stuff, so I just said, "eh, maybe the ethernet port burned out?" (dunno, I've had modems die on me befor, it's basically the same Idea right?)

So, I was going to do the easy thing, take my system to his house, hook it up and see if he could get on with my system, if both systems don't work, it's a fault somewhere with the ISP (since the cable works with his computer and everything) But if mine does work, his system is new enough he could probably exchange it right now.

Well, X-box is and X-box right? Or so I thought. I just take my system, no cables or anything, and go to his house and....well, the friggin powers supply doesn't plug in. I looked it over, and my system is rated 12v 16.5 A and his was rated 12v 14.3a. Cool, I guess, maybe that means he got a newer 45nh chip or something?

But anyhow, that means that there are at least 2 distinct different systems out there, so I guess, be careful when yo get a new power supply, or go to a friends house, don't just assume all your stuff will work together, cause I know now for a fact that it won't necessairly.

Oh yeah, his was an Arcade, with a white Disc tray, and mine was a core, with a chrome disc tray.

No big prob, but I didn't know if anyone ran into this yet or not, and thought I'd post about it, I'll pack up my whole system and take it over his house later this week and see what his problem is.
