adelaide-atari #1 Posted January 1, 2009 hey! my wife purchased some new N64 pads for me for xmas, so i thought i'd fire up the old girl and take down mario 64 for the 3 millionth time..... anyway...... everything is fine except that the screen is a little jittery/shaky on the big screen lcd tv.... i've tried various av cables with no luck and took the N64 into the smaller tv in the bedroom where it worked great... it seems the N64 doesn't like my big tv any ideas/similar experiences??? cheers in advance!! Royalshin #2 Posted January 1, 2009 The N64 apparently dropped many things including RGB(HD) support. So you can. A. Try using a SNES RGB/SCART to see if it can work which is probably not going to. B. Use a AV to RF and then AV to see if anything changes. C. Plug it in threw your VCD AV if it has such support. Most VCR devices just pulls it directly to the television. D. Mod the N64 ( which I dislike ) to use RGB support. E. Change the video mode of the television screen? A good thing to mention is the type of television you are using and what model. The N64 games can go into various video modes and settings including ultra suround sound. The only time I ever had a shacky screen was when I used my computers video card. adelaide-atari #4 Posted January 4, 2009 I could be the tv. yeah i was thinking it could be the tv, but the 2600, master system, mega drive, nes, snes, saturn, wii, and ps3 are all plugged in and all work fine... the n64 isn't too bad... it's playable.. just not perfect...... i was thinking of running it through the dvd player, but it doesn't have any additional inputs.... Segata Sanshiro #5 Posted January 4, 2009 You could get an input splitter from Radio Shack or Best Buy. It'll give you an additional input or two (or five, depending on the model). If you hook it up thru the dvd player, you might have a slight degradation in sound/picture quality. But it's something to think about.
