vdub_bobby #105 Posted July 17, 2009 Just beat Halo 2 (again). Though I cheated a bit and skipped some of the boring parts (and all the boss battles except for the last...ugh). Actually, I took a weird and meandering road through it. Started with the Scarab battle stage, playing co-op with my brothers, played up through to the first boss battle, where we turned it off and played something else. I picked it up solo a few days later, at the stage immediately following the boss level, and played it through to the next boss level, which I skipped. Then played through to the end. That game is really just great.
AtticGamer #106 Posted July 22, 2009 Renegade (ZX Spectrum), incidentally, without losing a life. God that last level was hard. Target: Renegade (ZX Spectrum), twice so I actually beat the super-difficult second play.

Frizo #110 Posted July 29, 2009 Super Mario Bros 1 - Was fun! Beat it twice in two days!(One time i used the level warp pipes.) This game was so hard...I swear...Adventure for 2600... [/sarcasm] oh, and Sonic 2 and Knuckles!
vdub_bobby #111 Posted August 3, 2009 Just finished The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Took me about 55 hours. Thoughts: -really enjoyed it -loved the graphics; reminded me a lot of Fable -didn't love the motion controls, there were a few fights where I was frantically flailing my arms (causing my wife to laugh at me) and nothing was happening onscreen. Plus the shield jab was mis-read as a spin attack way too often. -the lack of buttons on the Wiimote hurt a little; having the lock-on button be the same as the center-the-camera button occasionally made it a pain to aim the camera where I wanted -on the other hand, aiming hookshot/boomerang/bow and arrows/etc. with the pointer was so smooth and dreamy -the combat in general, however, was the best of the 3D Zelda's I've played (OOT, MM, and Wind Waker). The extra moves you learn from that weird knight were pretty cool. -the same issue I have with most of the Zelda games cropped up again - too many little-used items. What is the point of the slingshot? You get the boomerang in one of the beginning dungeons and then almost never use it again. Same with the giant ball on a chain thing, the spinning top thing, etc. The dominion rod was especially egregious; it had almost no use at all - you barely even used it in the dungeon where you find it. I'd prefer for there to be fewer items overall, but for them to be more generally useful, rather than to have 20 different items, each one only used for about 30 minutes total. -when I finished Wind Waker, I was a little sad to be done - I enjoyed sailing around the little world, I enjoyed the puzzles, the locations, the towns. With Twilight Princess, I wasn't sad - I enjoyed it, to be sure, but the prospect of wandering around the world some more wasn't that appealing. It was fun, it was good, and it was good to be done. StanJr #112 Posted August 3, 2009 LOVED Twilight Princess. Loved it, miss the world. Last night I beat Pryzm: Chapter One The Dark Unicorn for the PS2. very lackluster ending.
Cybergoth #113 Posted August 9, 2009 Just had my sister-in-law visiting and her boyfriend and I beat Umbrella Chronicles. It's been surprisingly good. I think I had more fun with its Zero and RE3 episodes than with the regular games. It won't beat Remake though Well, there's still some work left to do now, like the solo missions and unlocking stuff...
lushgirl_80 #114 Posted August 9, 2009 I flipped the score on Asteroids a few months ago As far as games with actual endings.....still working on Zelda 1 for NES.... I have beaten it before but I forget the ending.

Cybergoth #124 Posted August 26, 2009 ...Umbrella Chronicles... Well, there's still some work left to do now, like the solo missions and unlocking stuff... Done. I unlocked "Umbrellas End" plus all sub scenarios and beat all of them by now, also got to see the real end incl. credits rolling. I could still play it now, upgrading some weapons, collect missing files, aim for S-Ranks, etc. but I feel I'm done with it now. I really hadn't expected to get a full 20 hours worth of entertainment out of it! @Bob & Stan: Thanks for the feedback on Conduit & Ghostbusters! vdub_bobby #125 Posted August 26, 2009 @Bob & Stan: Thanks for the feedback on Conduit & Ghostbusters! Heh; I just beat it again a few days ago. Killing time waiting for the wireless router I bought to come in the mail so I can take my Wii online. Plus now with MP Trilogy out I'm not sure if I should go back and finish up the last 15-25% of MP3 or if I should wait and buy MP Trilogy and play them all in order - I've never played the first two (and don't really want to, the GC controls are IMO a dealbreaker) but I can't decide. Since it's a Nintendo game, the price will never drop and I'm not sure if I really want to spend $50 on a game that I already own a third of.
