PAL or not PAL, that is the question....

How do you know if a sealed 7800 game is NTSC or PAL without opening it? I had some extras and sold a few off and had one returned because they said it was PAL.

Most of them are completely identical, even the EAN code is the same. I had to open every box the check if there is a German/International manual in it. I just checked a bunch of games and only Scrapyard Dog was slightly different (rescaled back artwork and an additional "Made in").

Some PAL games also have a non-english manual shrinked to the outside of the box.

Yeah, without any outside sign like a manual inside the shrink on the outside of the box, you can't tell at all until you open her up...

So how do you list sealed games for sale? Do you state it may be PAL or NTSC ? Or is is buyer beware?

I once sold a game years ago as NTSC and the buyer said it was PAL. Was he lying? Easy way to pull a bait and switch if you DO have a complete PAL version.

Yep, that seems to be the only way. If you bought a stack of one game you will have to sacrifice one shrink to check:)

Even thats not a for sure thing Marc cause Atari was terrible for tossing in NTSC copies as fillers in PAL cases.
