Did Donkey Kong make to the ST? Is so anyone got a link?

Dunno about an official version, but there's a sweet conversion called "Kid Kong".

From what I saw, this is available on Superior 140a/b/c/d which you can get here:

Eh? What do you mean pulled off? And Nintendo going after a shareware author who made a game like that? That's almost as likely as being hit by a meteorite.

Firstly, it's a superior menu!

Secondly, I guess that if you can find the .prg and copy it on another disk (or hard drive) it should just work.

Oh what the heck, I did it for you :)

Kid Kong is one of Dave Munsie's great arcade translations. There was also a DK clone called Monkey Business that had a color and mono version. I will upload them when I get home later today.

In regards to Nintendo, he originally had a Mario graphic used in the game, but changed it. I have the shareware "Mario" version, but I have never found the full release version.

Error 8 = Out of memory

My guess is Dave wrote it with his MAGE stuff for GFA. ;)

Okay, I just took another look at it with steem. It worked on every case I tried except with 512k ram. I even tried a US TOS. It still worked here.

Can you try a clean boot? (ie no auto folder programs or accs/cpxs)

If it still doesn't work, do you mind stating your configuration? (machine, tos version, ram, auto folder programs, accs, any extras)

Thanks. I will try it on the real deal at home. It appears steem is having issues with this game.

Edit: It does however work with Hatari.

Holy crap is that a good game!!! Hard, but good!

I have a HUGE archive of ST stuff, and I like to look through and discover gems like this in the Public domain collection.

NOOB ALERT!

Is it possible to get a .prg file to a disc and then run it on real hardware?

PCs can read disks formatted on the ST (but not always vice versa before TOS 1.4 machines right?)

So I guess you just format a disk on the ST and write to it from your PC and pop the disk back in your ST and double click the .PRG file.

(someone will surely point out if I am wrong but hell what have you got to lose and it probably does work like that)

You can use DC Format on the ST to write a DOS boot sector to a disk and have it readable on the PC.
