Calibrating a Sega Light Phaser

Recommended Posts

So I got a Light Phaser for my Master System but it is about 2 inches off to the right when I fire. I got the sucker open and am looking at it's guts but can't seem to figure out a way to calibrate this sucker. If anybody has any advice then I would appriciate it. I also thought that it was cool that they put two big weights in the handle.

Calibration on an older light gun has more to do with the screen and the software than it does the gun. My Light Phaser fires a little to the lower right when I use it with my 7800.

So then if I plugged in any light phaser then it would be exactly the same? It's literally 2 inches off to the right. Is there not any way to calibrate the gun?

I think there would be some difference, but they'd all shoot in the same area. You might be able to open the gun up and move things around in there some. IIRC, the actual receiver is within a metal shell and cannot be moved in relation to the board.

Yeah, I already opened it and tried adjusting the receiver but it didn't seem to do anything.
