moycon #1 Posted January 17, 2009 For those interested in the wireless adapter: http://gamerdeals.net/blogs/cheap-xbox-360...-for-69-99.aspx It's still over priced if you ask me, but if you were wanting to get one, at least it's better to save $30 while doing so. Almost Rice #2 Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) Looks like only 10% off right now. It start Sunday. This really is overpriced though. Edited January 18, 2009 by Almost Rice
moycon #3 Posted January 18, 2009 Yes my bad. The sale wont be starting until Sunday, January 18th (at Midnight PST) And I agree. I paid about $75 for my 360 wireless adapter, and while it does a good job it was and is over priced even at that price. Still. I'd have rather paid 69.99 than even $75. This was just for folks considering the official 360 version. They have a cheaper alternative. It's a wireless adapter that was made for the original Xbox and while it doesn't look as good or snap onto the 360 as well as the official 360 adapter, it works fine and gets the job done. Jess Ragan #4 Posted January 18, 2009 The price for that adapter is idiotic. It's so terrible, in fact, that some gamers have resorted to using the adapter designed for the ORIGINAL Xbox instead. It ain't pretty, but it gets results, and that's what matters most. I'm just glad that my own system is close enough to my router that I can connect to it directly. Mendon #5 Posted January 18, 2009 I'm not technical in any way, so forgive me if this is a stupid question: the Wii and PS3 have built in WiFi and don't use an antenna at all, while the MS wireless adapters (both Xbox and 360) have antenna's. Why is that? Mendon
Jess Ragan #6 Posted January 19, 2009 Poor decision making on Microsoft's part. Plus, the system came about a year before its competitors, so it was a little behind the curve with regard to online technology.
S1500 #7 Posted January 19, 2009 Ethernet forever. Really, even though it's 2009, there's ways other than wireless to connect to the InternetWebAOL.
