Where did ColecoNation go?

Recommended Posts

Nathan has retired, for all practical purposes, mostly because of family responsabilities. He didn't renew his web space account, so the site fell off the edge of cyberspace.

Just before Christmas 2008, Nathan sent me some zip files with all past ColecoNation issues in PDF format, with the goal of installing this material on the Opcode Games web site, but I was unable to open those zip files under Windows, and Nathan hasn't replied since, to try to help me fix the problem.

So ColecoNation is dead for now, but if the zip problems get resolved, CN will be revived on opcodegames.com eventually.

Note that no future issues of ColecoNation will ever be produced, in all likelyhood.

That's too bad -- his interviews were excellent!!!

Maybe he could be convinced to do one final interview with the Exatron/Entropo folks that were going to produce the Super Game Module, seeing as how the company is still around. I bet they might have some interesting stories they could share... :):):)

Wow, that's too bad, as Nathan did a great job with ColecoNation. I would have gladly hosted the site as an archive. Glad to hear at least the PDFs will be available eventually. If you want some help with the ZIP files, I'd be glad to take a look at them.

LAST MINUTE NEWS FLASH!!! :D :D :D

I tried opening one of Nathan's zip files under Linux, and it worked! My only problem now is that each page is a separate PDF file, and it seems that the front page (with the table of contents) is missing from every issue. Regardless, now that I can open those files, it's only a matter of time before I can post all those past issues of ColecoNation on opcodegames.com!

If someone here has access to a full-featured PDF editor (preferably Adobe's) and would like to help me regroup all those separate pages into single PDFs, please PM me. Meanwhile, I will try to contact Nathan and ask him for those front pages. He should normally be able to give those to me quickly enough...
