I think you made the right choice. $750 for a JAMMA game is really high even if it is in mint condition. Good wheelin and dealin.

I think he's buying, actually.

If I had the space I would have gone for it, too. TMNT is one of my favorite arcade games.

Yeah I'm buying. I was afraid somebody was going to think I was selling. I just have to beg my parents for access to the bank account set up for my communion money and the money my family gave to my parents on my first birthday.

Honestly, that is VERY strong money for that game. A TMNT at auction is probably more like a 250 piece. Its your money but that might not be a good return if you ever sell it.

Might I suggest getting a TMNT board and a cheaper cabinet to play it in? JAMMA cabs are pretty cheap these days. Just my .25.

FWIW, I have given TMNT cabs away, sold them for parts and converted them to other games. There were PLENTY of them made.

Oh c'mon man, you know that never compares to owning a nice dedicated machine!

I do agree though that $750 is way too high. Here is the only things that can justify that price (all of these, not just one or two)

- New monitor was put in very recently (with proof)

- machine is cleaned/shop serviced

- Delivery and set up

- Machine is MINT works flawlessly and has all art/etc.. that a dedicated machine has (or as close to dedicated as a TMNT can be)

- The seller is cool (do not give a prick this kind of cash for this game, take your buisiness elsewhere)

- LAST BUT NOT LEAST...You fully understand that you and your friends are going to play all the way through this game, probably the first night you own it, and then rarely (if ever) play it again. When purchasing coin-ops always go for replay value, TMNT does not have much of that. Think NBA JAM, Blitz, something VS style ;)

If you are cool with all that then buy it, if not I urge you to wait and pick up a Street Fighter or similar VS style game that you will get your money worth from. This is basically the reason I do NOT own a 4 player Gauntlet machine, it would be fun for one weekend, then become a very expensive work of art that collects dust :P

Oh if you're buying this is a total rip-off. You can get the TMNT jamma board for like $50 and then all you need is a jamma cabinet and you're all set. I'd say be patient and wait for a better deal. You can spend the money you saved on more boards like X-Men, Turtles in Time, etc.

Wow, I didn't know the game was that cheap x.x

I just need to find a jamma cabinet myself for my turtles board.

I would have went for it for that price, but then again I really, really love the game. I could play that over and over the whole way through, just to get better.

Just looked around the web today and found a few FS posts over the past few years. As I thought the game is worth 250-350. Maybe it would be more with a new monitor but thats one of those places where paying premium for a new part does not make the machine worth that much more. A new WG monitor is 400 from Happ, and I HIGHLY doubt you would get that back in a resale.

I have converted Turtles myself into other things. Feeling bad about it, yes but it was not making me money. I would think a good auction estimate for one with clean color and good controls maybe 300. If it had a clean overlay (most dont) I'd go 350. Its just not that valuable a piece yet....yet. Give it time.
