+5-11under #1 Posted January 31, 2009 Hello all, Does anyone have any information on the company "Nice Ideas", who created ColecoVision games? There's a blurb on Big Sky Rangers, but that's about all I can find. I know they made the game Illusions, but are there any other cartridges or ROMs floating around that people are aware of? Thanks, 5-11under
+Psionic #2 Posted January 31, 2009 Does anyone have any information on the company "Nice Ideas", who created ColecoVision games? There's a blurb on Big Sky Rangers, but that's about all I can find. I know they made the game Illusions, but are there any other cartridges or ROMs floating around that people are aware of? They developed World Cup Soccer for the Intellivision. They also worked on the original CV ports of Bump 'n Jump and BurgerTime (which were completed by Coleco and released). The ROMs of the originals are floating around. They supposedly had a BurgerTime sequel (PizzaTime) in development, but I'm not sure how far along that was, and nothing has ever turned up that I know of. I would imagine they had other projects in the can as well when they were shut down (an Intellivision version of Illusions is believed to exist). I'm not sure if that tells you anything you don't know already.
darthkur #3 Posted February 2, 2009 I didn't know any of that. It would have been great if they had completed their PizzaTime game. BT is one of my personal favorites so it would be nice to see another take on the theme. I do thoroughly enjoy INTV's Diner though. I'm going to have to find the original roms for Bump 'n Jump and BurgerTime to see how different they might be.
chrisbid #4 Posted February 2, 2009 the BSR had talked about releasing INTV Illusions as a limitied edition cart from the procedes of the horrible INTV-tv-plug-and-play. nothing ever came from that annoucnement though :\
ozma wars #5 Posted February 2, 2009 This development team was owned by Mattel Europe. They definitively closed when fired in 1984 when trying to work on some C64 projects by their own. One of this people worked to Mattel Italy for 6 months when Mattel Italy also closed all other non-electronical activities. I know this because were 17 y.o. in 1984 when stressing all Mattel Europe offices and plants to get info about the E.C.S. computer. ciao MAX - Italy

+5-11under #8 Posted February 9, 2009 See this thread in the Prototype forum: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138835 There were four items that coleconut found: Frenzy, Popeye, Fireman, and Mr. Robot. Unfortunately, Mr. Robot is only a case. We dumped the Frenzy and Popeye EPROMs, but they didn't take - we'll try again next time we meet, to see if they're any different from the commercial releases. The thread linked above explains the Fireman game. All three prototype boards were Coleco boards. Thanks, 5-11under
