Turd Furgason #1 Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) If at all...I am a notorious cheapskate, and i spent more today then i have in a long time - here's what i got from a day of traveling around: 1 NES - dirty, broken hinge - but you can get it to play (with some fighting) - 15 NES games (nothing really spectacular) with all the game labels removed (crap!) - 1 NES advantage - various cables etc = Total =$5 (i really just wanted the advantage out of all of this stuff) 1 NES in the box with styro and eveything - not perfect but very clean condition......1 magnavox odyssey 2 with 1 extra controller and 1 game....1 N64 game storage box with nintendo logos...that i can't find a picture of anywhere online, and also 1 NES game system storage box badged as nintendo that has two drawers (never seen either of these before....and in one of the drawers was two n64 controller packs...total for all = 45$.....Thats a lot for me what do you guys think? darthkur #2 Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) I'd say that's a pretty good haul, especially if the boxed NES and O2 are in working condition. Does your cases look like these? Edited February 1, 2009 by darthkur
fiddlepaddle #3 Posted February 1, 2009 I have some of those boxes, a couple that hold NES, a couple that hold SNES, and one or two that hold either SNES or N64. I got them all at thrift stores, where they tend to sit and get discounted eventually. I don't use them though, since I can't get enough to make it much use for me. I guess I could keep my favorite games in them next to my desk. I hadn't thought about using them as a stand for my Sega CD...that's a good idea... Turd Furgason #4 Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) wow...thats almost them exactly...the "nintendo one is the same one but my N64 box is a bit bigger...it is the same width as the "nintendo" one. Thanks for posting that pic! Everything works great...finished cleaning them today - I am looking for a reliable source for the 72 pin nes replacement units. I know alot of places sell them - anyone have a favorite supplier?...I need 5 at the moment. Edited February 1, 2009 by Turd Furgason
Longhorn Engineer #5 Posted February 2, 2009 Instead of buying new ones I have had great success just rebending the 72pin slot. http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/nintendo/nes-blinking.htm
Reaperman #6 Posted February 2, 2009 Instead of buying new ones I have had great success just rebending the 72pin slot. http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/nintendo/nes-blinking.htm I fully agree. just clean it up, and bend the pins. Then you're rid of that zero insert force bs for good. though it's a little unnerving not having to push the game down...

shadow460 #10 Posted December 29, 2009 Sounds like the N64 game boxes you have are the double wide ones that hold 24 games each. It's about as wide as an Atari 5200. My 5200 sits atop two of them stacked together. They were heavily marketed around the late '90's.
