Ace_1 #26 Posted February 11, 2009 Why am I seeing so many Atari 7800s when I haven't even found one ANYWHERE where I live??? Mark, what is that Famiclone at the complete bottom of the shelf in the left of the picture?
madhatter667 #27 Posted February 11, 2009 I don't so much have a console area at this time. I tend to hook up, and unhook things as needed. I have SNES/SFC NES/Famicom, PS2, NDS, 800XL, and One Station handy at ay given time. I have much, much more in terms of actual consoles. Most of them are in storage due to space constraints One day, I WILL have an awesome game room, with a couple TVs, and some multi-a/v switches to handle several consoles at once, and some cush chairs. Get it all set up, and not have to juggle it around anymore...it is not a pipe dream!
Rockin' Kat #28 Posted February 11, 2009 darthkur- I have that exact same NEC Video Monitor. Mine came with my Commodore 64, which was my first retro computer aquisition. A distant relative of mine had passed away and the setup was burried underneight some other stuff under the stairwell. I had noticed it on a previous visit with my mother and asked her to see if she could claim it when she went over to help her aunts clean out the Condo. I'm currently doing some re-organizing of my game room... I got tired of digging through video and power cables to find the right cable and decided to expand my controller storage a little and mix the cables in with the controllers to see if it'd make them easier to locate in a hurry... in the process I've made the mess even bigger.... so I just need to clean it up in here before I think of posting pictures.... I don't like posting pictures of my space in it's natural state.

Ace_1 #30 Posted February 11, 2009 Mark, what you have is an NES clone made to play(usually, don't know about this unit) Japanese Famicom games. Do you have a closeup of the system?

madhatter667 #32 Posted February 12, 2009 Pretty neat little clone. Is that one an NOAC, or does it have a little more board in there? I like it.
Turd Furgason #33 Posted February 12, 2009 looks like a old cassette recorder
Ace_1 #34 Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) Pretty neat little clone. Is that one an NOAC, or does it have a little more board in there? I like it. I'm assuming it uses a full cloned Famicom chipset. This is one of the earlier Famiclones, probably pre-NOAC old. EDIT: Found a little tidbit of information on the system: http://ultimateconsoledatabase.com/famiclones/gentex.htm It was released in the 90s, so the odds of it having an NOAC are 50/50. AtariLeaf #36 Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) I have this little area in the corner of my office where I put my favorite systems and games. Its in an old glassdoor bookcase my parents had for decades but it stores the games nice and neatly. I currently have a six switch, a 7800, an XEGS, and a top loading NES set up here. The rest of my games and systems are elsewhere in storage but this is my set up for play and display. Some doubles and my 8-bit carts are in a box under the shelfing unit and a box of assorted joysticks and controllers, with my toaster NES, are on the floor too. madhatter667 #37 Posted February 12, 2009 I would personally like to get a few more of the older Famiclones myself... the oldest one I have is a Micro Genius IQ501, and I REALLY like it. I know that some people have mixed feelings about these things, but I find them intriguing. Finding a Dendy would be rather interesting. Crazy, interesting world, pirate Famicom stuff is. +Ransom #38 Posted February 13, 2009 Here's where I keep most of the classic consoles: Here's a wider shot of the area: And another: Here's where I keep my cartridges (there are more carts behind those you can see; the 2600 shelf is a double-row, for example): The PS2 and Jaguar are in another room, hooked to a CRT TV. Stan #40 Posted February 15, 2009 Cool, you have one of those Nintendo NES stands as well. Alright boys, the beast arrived Friday, been getting the room cleaned and organized and just finished polishing the monstrosity today after purchasing a new key for it at the Chinese antique store. Looks forking awesome. And it's incredible, the drawers are the exact size of a DVD turned on its side, so I can fit two rows of Atari games in there per drawer (only took two and 1/16 to do it). I'll get pictures in the next day or so.

Stan #42 Posted February 15, 2009 Har she blows. The first picture is the cabinet closed. I covered the flash slightly so it wouldn't create too much glare. That thing flashes light back like nothing because of the odd fish oil varnish stuff they used on it. The next picture is it open. If you're wondered where the doors went, it's awesome, this thing was apparently some old display cabinet or something. The doors move to the side and then push into the cabinet. There are three shelves. As you can see, TV is in the middle, some board games on the top, some below and some systems here and there. This isn't all of my collection, however, just where I play my games now. The third picture shows you three of the drawers partially opened to reveal how I store my Atari games now. Enjoy!
