yuppicide #1 Posted February 5, 2009 I need to get screen shots of a few games for some art projects I am working on. I want them to be closer to original colors. I understand all monitors or television sets aren't calibrated the same. My question is this: The screen shot in the database here, for example Pitfall! (http://www.atariage.com/screenshot_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=360) is a much different color than what I see in Stella. In the database the ground is a bright yellow/orangy color, and underneath is brownish, the bricks purplish red with gray lines between them. In Stella the ground is made up of two shades of green, the bricks are red with gray lines between them. I will post screen shots later if I can get screen shots working again. I had another post where it didn't work anymore.
yuppicide #2 Posted February 5, 2009 Here's the screen shot comparison.. I am willing to bet the My Stella image is accurate, but if so then why the database have such drastic color difference?

Most people agree that it wasn't that accurate (but it certainly can be more colourful). Below are 3 snapshots from the latest version of Stella. Which one is more correct is subjective, but that's why I added the option to Stella for a user palette; anyone can come up with one more to their liking and use it instead. yuppicide #4 Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks for the information. It's too bad I want to use the standard Stella because I already purchase paint for the other color scheme.
