Who's still playing Geometry Wars 2?

Recommended Posts

I saw Geometry Wars mentioned in another thread and it made me think about this.

I love Geometry Wars. It was the first Xbox Live Arcade game which really attracted my attention and it's still my favorite.

On the other hand, I didn't like the Geometry Wars 2 demo. It didn't feel right. It didn't have the smooth difficulty the original had, and it had elements which, for me, destroyed the zonerific feel of the game. Of course, people told me I was wrong and I should buy the full game because it was better than the original Geometry Wars in every way. But I didn't. I'm happy with the original Geometry Wars, and I knew from Geometry Wars Galaxies on the Wii that multiplayer wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

That leads me to my question and the purpose of the thread. Do the people who thought Geometry Wars 2 was all that and a bag of chips still feel that way? Do you still play GW2 on a semi-regular basis? Now that the new car smell is gone, is it still as attractive? I'm curious how the game is aging.

And, of course, I'm wondering if perhaps anyone migrated back to the first game after a brief love affair with the seqel. :)

I still play GW2 pretty regularly. I played the original just last night and found that it pales in comparison to GW2. Of course, I prefer to play the "passifism" game which isn't an option on the original.

I finished it but play from time to time. I just got the 42" LG demo screen from the Guitar Hero display at my local Circuit City on ultra-super-going-out-of-business closeout. I will prob. fire up GW2 to see what it looks like on this panel tonight.

I haven't played for awhile, but now that I see this post i'll have to fire it up and give it a go. I did like it much better than the first one.
