Primordial Ooze #1 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) I am creating my homebrew game Primordial Ooze and need ideas for the CX numbers. As some of you may know primordial means: existing in or persisting from the beginning (as of a solar system or universe) I have come up with the following ideas so far: CX- (no number cause it's so old no one knows) CX-Ooze (game name) CX-10000 BC (10000 BC) CX-100000BC (100000 BC) CX-&.*#%*(^ (unknown primordial language) Any other ideas? MausGames #2 Posted February 18, 2009 Uh oh, I too have been working on a fleshed-out ooze type of game, and have the majority of it done. Good luck anyway.
Atari Dogs #3 Posted February 18, 2009 I like the BC numbers. It make for a good joke. On my hacks I put the CX number of the original as a reference to the original game.
Primordial Ooze #4 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Thanks, so i guess this project is dead as any hopes of it being released or sold as prebuilt cartridges for those technically inclined to be unable to make their own would result in a copyright infringement lawsuit. +atari2600land #5 Posted February 18, 2009 Actually, this has been done before...
Primordial Ooze #6 Posted February 18, 2009 So should i continue the project or consider it dead? Sincerely, Primordial Ooze
MausGames #7 Posted February 18, 2009 Yep, even called Ooze. It's more of a style of game though, I don't think there is any infringing on anyone's property here. This is how far I got with my first attempt at this kind of game; as you can see there are a lot of different ways this kind of game can go. It's definitely not a big deal if there are multiple games of the same type made for the 2600, I think that kind of started 30 years ago. Primordial Ooze #8 Posted February 18, 2009 Yeaaa, my project isn't dead! Did you write it in assembly or batari basic? My version of the game is being written in pure assembly. Thanks for the demo, i really enjoyed playing it. Sincerely, Primordial Ooze
Kurt_Woloch #9 Posted February 18, 2009 Actually, this game (in both versions presented) reminds me of the released game "Ram it" by 20th Century Fox (if I got it right) which has been played on the Hi-Score competition recently... only that in Ram It!, bars grow from the left and right instead of from the top. Primordial Ooze #10 Posted February 18, 2009 Actually, this game (in both versions presented) reminds me of the released game "Ram it" by 20th Century Fox (if I got it right) which has been played on the Hi-Score competition recently... only that in Ram It!, bars grow from the left and right instead of from the top. You mean this game? I just learned about it for the first time, and saw the similarities to both game. Sincerely, Primordial Ooze
+atari2600land #11 Posted February 19, 2009 Ram-It seems to bear lots of resemblence to Squeeze Box.
