Anybody Playing Video Games On Youtube?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm curious to ask. Is anybody here on Atariage have themselves showing off there video game skills, and collection on youtube? I'm trying to purchase a camcorder in the month of March, and love to post myself up with my collection, my game skills. and yours truly. So ladies, i'm going to showoff my Italian mucho-machoness (^_^)\m/. So Iwan, I would hide your wife if I were you (^_^).

And maybe showoff a little of the Bronx.

I've only got one, so far... I recorded it for the 2600 HSC last year when we were playing Planet Patrol. I wanted to show everyone how to beat level 5. The dodging and general speed of the level make it extremely difficult. The video starts at the beginning of level 5 and plays until the end of my game.

The video is kinda bad... you can't see my shots for example, but rest assured that when a red ship disappears it is because I shot it. :)

No problem! Glad you liked it :)

It will be interesting to see what other videos get posted.

I only posted general gameplay videos to demonstrate what comes on the console or cartridge. Fun stuff. Don't use a camcorder to record the TV screen. it's redundant. Use a TV capture card which is a lot cheaper & directly records the video.

That is some very good advice.

As you may have guessed, most of the ones I put up I recorded with the help of an emulator, which gives an excellent picture and sound quality, however it is obviously a lot more system intensive.

I have a bunch of gaming vids on my Youtube channel..

You have been getting into this! :)

Ok, here is what I have to date. Love Youtube. I used a G4 Mac with EyeTV encoder box for like 99% of the 160 videos I have up there currently. About 55% of the movies are video game videos I think.

Ok we have the Bubsy Bobcat link, which has most of my early Jaguar Bubsy game playing...

The Bubsy Speed run where I played the game in under an hour (I've done better since...)

http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?pi=0&a...A8FA78F080C368#

Here is the Chickenlander saga (Highlander game for the Jaguar played to completion with cheats...)

Various other Jaguar games played...

And here is the playlist that has me playing Star Raiders, Shamus 2, Laser Lawk, Laser Gates, A.E. ...

I hope to do a lot more in the future.

I have a bunch of video game videos up on YouTube. I can't link to my channel right now because I'm at work but I go by the same name on YouTube (theking21083). I'm sure that I'm not the greatest at making videos but I have fun doing them.

My one video on You Tube is of the first stage of Burai Fighter.

It is a show off video of me finishing the first stage of the NTSC release, but it's on the maximum difficulty (hence the password).

Burai Fighter unlocks the first three difficulty levels from the git go. Complete the hardest setting and it unlocks a fourth setting that gives fewer extra lives and has no secret rooms full of powerups.

Here's what's going on:

The fighter's hitbox is rather large. The only parts of the sprite not in the hitbox is his head and the very tip of one boot. Controlling the fighter works the same way it does in Heavy Barrel: Your aim and movement are totally independent of each other.

Throughout most of the stage you see the fighter shooting guided lasers. After ten "L" pickups, the lasers are maxed out. The next pickup is an "R" pickup, which allows the fighter to shoot rings that can penetrate walls. The "S" pickups make the fighter move faster, up to a limit. Four red fireballs make up one Cobalt Bomb, which is used to clear the screen of enemies and their bullets. They generate the star burst you see every few seconds. Picking up 32 red fireballs without using a single cobalt bomb awards an extra life, as you see near the end of the video when the screen turns black. At one point there was a black and blue pod. The fighter picked that up and it began to rotate around him, killing any enemies it touched (see what happens to the brown "cannonhead" enemies a few seconds later.) The black turtle shells that explode are quite dangerous to the fighter in game. Just avoiding getting killed by them requires a huge degree of skill. Shooting them point blank requires a degree of guts.

At the end, that boss is called "Giganticrab". The blue arms, are, of course, lethal to the touch. The object is to shoot out his three eyes. They take tons of hits and they shoot back. This guy can pin you into a corner very fast and the video does not do his movements justice at all. It's usually wise to take a few cobalt bombs into the battle with you, but I was a bonehead and let the gauge fill up at the lower left. Oops. Basically what I do is circle the 'Crab, turning and shooting toward the eyes at all times. He'll move and "jump", move and "jump" and you have to get used to the timing of this. When you get the timing figured out, you know how long you have to shoot until you have to scoot out of the way again. Rings penetrate the 'Crab's body, giving you the chance to plaster him from below as well. Rings will not penetrate the blue arms, though.

At the very end, 5000 points are awarded for every L, R, or M weapon symbol you have remaining. See, when you die you lose all your S symbols, all your rotating pods, and all your cobalt bombs, along with whichever weapon, Lasers, Rings, or Missiles you were currently using. You get to keep the other two weapons, no matter if they were at level 0 or at max. I'm too good at this game, so I never died in that stage. I had 15 symbols for a bonus of 75,000, but wait, if you max a weapon out like I did the lasers, you get double the bonus, so 125,000 was awarded. Extra lives are awarded for every 100,000 points. A bonus is possible of 300,000 in Stage 2 and later. You can get a maximum of 125,000 in Stage 1 because there are only 15 weapon symbols in that stage.

I got some gameplay videos on YouTube, mostly Shoot-em-ups(Gradius, Thunder Force, R-Type, even my Gradius fangame) as well as clone console comparisons and my favorite video game music(not the point of the topic, but it's worth mentioning anyways). Here's the link to my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Ace9921

I've got a few, though if you want older stuff it's towards the end. Mainly got reviews and all, but I did put up a speed run today.
