the.golden.ax #1 Posted February 23, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, I'm up for a little project! NEWS: I'm going to be doing a batch of 7800 NES controller conversions (up to 40) and would like to start getting together a list of interested buyers. I'll be making no less than 10 and no more than 40 of this model. They will be numbered. Product Description: These will be color dyed black, or black and silver, or silver, and will work with both button 1 and button 2 on 7800 titles requiring it. When the final color(s) are in place it will be noted in this thread. They will come with custom decal showing the 7800 name and Atari Fuji, a keep case with high quality label, and basic manual insert. Terms: Project completion is scheduled for shipment no later than than six weeks after at least 10 payments are in. This will be called the "project start date". This is so that I can order the parts, dye, resistors, decal sheets, etc... Once ten payments are in, a one week count down or "final call" on orders/payments will be made. You can be on the list, and not pay until the final call starts. However, once at least ten payments are in, the parts are ordered, and the one week final call has passed, the number of paid customers at the end of that week will be the final number of controllers made. Any unpaid names will drop off the list then. No hard feelings. If the project runs long, customers will have the option to cancel for refund upon demand. Price: Price is set at $24.95 each plus shipping to your location. Shipping: The shipping fee is PER controller, not per order, as these will be built, boxed, and packed, ready to ship single. USA $4.80 Priority, in a box Canada $5.00 First Class INTL, in a box Rest of the world $12.95 in a box, then in a Global Priority envelope Payments: Payment is to be made by PAYPAL ONLY. When making your payment you MUST include your Atari Age screen name! The payment can not be credited correctly without having your screen name. Please select the correct shipping amount per controller shown above and include it along with your payment and screen name from AA to [email protected] (this is not a customer service email address, payments only, please). Core Trade-In $5 core REFUND PAYPAL CREDIT will be given on the trade-in of each good working, original NES controller that is free from physical defects (no bites, gouges, or major scratches) There is a maximum of TWO core trades per controller ordered... your controller trade-in may have cords that show frays, damage, or be missing the cord all together (cut off), as long as the internals have not been messed with (Example: not desoldered from inside the controller). In order to get the credit you must make your payment by paypal, in full, for each controller you wish to purchase, then PM ME BY CLICKING HERE and request the shipping address to send in your core controllers. Once I get your controller(s) I will issue a partial refund through paypal as credit for your controllers at $5 per accepted trade-in. Warranty The controllers will have a 90 day warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Updates: Weekly progress reports and updates will be posted in this thread with photos and details. You will be kept 100% in the loop on this project if you stay tuned to this posting. The List: The list will be updated as single posts one at a time since the non-marketplace threads can no longer be edited after the first hour or so. For Customer Service, or to be added to the list PM ME BY CLICKING HERE! AX Edited February 23, 2009 by the.golden.ax

ApolloBoy #5 Posted February 23, 2009 I'd love to pick up another one, and I'd be more than willing to donate an NES controller for one in exchange.

+Ransom #7 Posted February 23, 2009 I'd love to have a controller adapter, but neither my wife nor I find the stock NES controllers comfortable. The NES Advantage, on the other hand....

RickO2 #17 Posted February 24, 2009 Talk about timely... My hand hurts like H E Double Hockey Sticks after playing my (new to me) 7800 for a couple of hours last night. I would be interested in one. Just out of curiousity; is the NES pad an improvement over the CX78? I don't have a CX78 but I was thinking about ordering one.

I do think that the NES controller is better than the CX78... the D-pad just feels better to me. Depends if you have the little stick with it or not. I can't stand using them without it. +remowilliams #24 Posted February 25, 2009 Count me in for 2. My doubledown 7800 conversion pad was a huge hit. Talk about timely... Just out of curiousity; is the NES pad an improvement over the CX78? I don't have a CX78 but I was thinking about ordering one. Yes, the NES pads are a huge improvement over the CX78s (which themselves are a huge improvement over the incredibly shitty 7800 stock sticks. )
