Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted March 2, 2009 Hi all, Hoping someone here can help. Going to Rome next month, would like to take my PSP for the flight. The charger (my camera charger too) says its rated at 110-220 Volts input. I bought a Europlug adapter so that my "plug" will fit into european outlets. I am "assuming" that all I had to do is make it physically fit into the wall and the charger figures out whether its 110 or 220. Theres no switch like on some electronics. Is this true or am I going to blow something up? What I bought is NOT a converter (220to110V), just a plug adapter that will make my US 2 prong fit an Italian 2 prong. Advice good, personal experiece even better. Actual answer, priceless. Thanks in advance, CN

The worst that could happen is that it will only blow the charger up and leave the PSP untouched.

Underball #4 Posted March 3, 2009 The 110-220 on the plug tells you right there. It supports 220/240 voltage. If it didn't, it would say 110 only, or 110-120. Most American portable electronic devices support 110-240 voltage. All domestic Laptops made after 2001 do. That's what the brick on the cable is for. It's a transformer that automatically adjusts for the right voltage. You just need a plug adapter, or buy a power strip in Italy that has both plug types. I use mine in Argentina, where they have different plugs and 220 voltage all the time. It's the same difference.
aikainnet #5 Posted March 5, 2009 I just went and bought me a 2-in-1 adapter so I wouldnt have to worry about wall chargers, plus it does wonders since I have a hacked psp and can charge while uploading a game to my psp http://www.psp411.com/show/product/131/0/2...Data_Cable.html
shadow460 #6 Posted March 8, 2009 Taking a computer? How about a USB charger? They're slow, but they get the job done.
