Inspired by the famous BBC radio programme 'Desert Island Disks' (originally fronted by roy plumley) and following on from a similar thread on the 2600/vcs forum

In he stylee of Desert island disks itself...which 5 classic atari 8 bit games would you have with you if you were on a desert island

In no particular order, here's mine

Rescue on Fractulas

Thunderfox (the first 'decent' uridium clone on the a8)

Return Of Heracles

Alternate Reality (both city/dungeon and character transfer tool)

Ultima 3 - 5

MULE

Planetfall and a disk disassembler so I can change the ending so Floyd would not die, desert island, I am sure I'll have time :)

For arcade style stuff, I would just use my MAME emulator :)

That was my favorite Infocom game, too, and Floyd's death really bummed me out at age 13. I was truly relieved when I finally earned the 'best' ending and he was repaired!

I'm assuming I'm by myself... so a lot of the two player games that are great, are boring to be played alone (MULE, Archon for instance).

1. David's Midnight Magic

2. Alternate Reality: The City (never really played it much, should have some time now!)

3. Lode Runner

4. Boulder Dash

5. Eternal Dagger or Wizard's Crown (I'd like to try these again, but too time consuming for normal life.)

Star Raiders, since I would have plenty of time to actually master it.

David's Midnight Magic: gotta have a pinball fix.

Then probably Donkey Kong, Centipede and Robotron: 2084... but only if I could get a conversion of 5200 Centipede.
