I want to edit the sprites in Pokemon Red/Blue.

If you have to ask, you're not going to able to do it.

 

Seriously though...you can't put color sprites in a B&W Game Boy game. The game wasn't programmed originally to take advantage of color. You'd have to reprogram a color conversion of the whole game.

Actually, you can if you apply the palette change globally. I wouldn't say that it makes sprites more attractive, tho.

Ah, yes...it converts the game to a Game Boy Color ROM (taking advanatge of the expanded color palette), but how would it know to apply the correct colors?

Itmight actually be easier to make a level hack of Gold Silver, or Crystal to play and look like Red Blue or yellow than to get RBY to play a GBC sprite in full color. Now if you just wanted to change the sprite shapes, that would have been easy....
