Broonale
The SIO2USB / Atarimax 8mbit combo looks interesting. I'm guessing that I could use this to make my own multicarts on the 130XE that will be by my PC and then use the cart the XEG in my living room. XEGS+multicart+joystick=~50 games that load instantly with no floppies, carts, or peripherals to deal with. We play more frequently because it is so convenient. Broonale
The 130XL arrived today! I love it Everything seems so much smaller than I expected! The drive is far lighter than I would have thought possible as well! The cartridges are the coolest! I love the way they look and feel! I am hesitant to hook it up until the svideo cable gets here as I don't want a snowy RF disappointment.
Broonale
Oh yeah, the XL and drive still had the clear film on the trim strips. The OCD in me forced me to rip them off!
mimo
go on, see how bad things were back in the day, then be surprised how good they are with the s-video cable
Broonale
The Atarimax SIO2USB is awesome! Can it be used to load xex's too or just atr's? I am sure I haven't come close to trying all it can do! The svideo cable was well worth it too! I also picked up two of the script roller systems on Ebay and have cleaned up one so far. _The Doctor__
yes you can load xex's just use ape in either the mirror mode in the directory you have your xex's or mount a dos atr in drive one and copy the xex's to that atr or just mount the mirror as drive 2 and load em from there. Many different ways to do it! The Atarimax SIO2USB is awesome! Can it be used to load xex's too or just atr's? I am sure I haven't come close to trying all it can do! telengard
The 130XL arrived today! <snip> I am hesitant to hook it up until the svideo cable gets here as I don't want a snowy RF disappointment. But, but.... that's part of the experience right? I dread the thought of the day when there is nothing but LCDs available. Boooooooo. My 1702 better last longer than me! 130XL? I want one!! Glad you are enjoying your new Atari. I use the SI02PC USB w/ APE software and it works well for what I do (which is mostly play games). ~telengard
