It's doubtful. You'd likely need to do some internal re-wiring of the system for it to work correctly.

Ah I see. Oh well. Looks like I have to find a controller.

The two types of controllers work very differently. You can't just rearrange the wires, you'd need some circuitry to change the signals and such.
