the.golden.ax #2 Posted March 18, 2009 How about a hi-res scan that you can print and use? When my die cutter comes I'll offer "remakes" of all the overlays. AX
PeterG #3 Posted March 18, 2009 I have the game but no overlay, help someone where can I get one without having the buy the whole game over again? I can't help you out with a real one, but I can send you a mail with the image of that overlay. You could print it out and laminate it. Works quite well. That's what I did for my second copy of Doom. jaguar_fan #4 Posted March 18, 2009 Why don´t you download the scan from here, print and cut it? http://www.atariage.com/overlay_page.html?...mTypeID=OVERLAY
Allpaul #5 Posted March 18, 2009 I ordered two from here, at the suggestion of some Atari Age members. http://www.1632-sales.zenwebhosting.com/ac...lays.html\ It's slightly different from the original, but it works fine. Also, there was a restriction for minimum order, but I emailed him, and he removed it.

Ite #7 Posted March 18, 2009 Problem is a don't have a printer or know how to laminate. If someone could do it for me and mail it to me I could pay them a couple of bucks.

Pete5125 #9 Posted March 18, 2009 if you put the image on a Cd/flashdrive and take it to Kinkos they can print it on card stock then laminate it for you, might cost you $5 tops, I did it and it works good enouth.
the.golden.ax #10 Posted March 18, 2009 The die cutter is HERE! Soon I'll be able to offer awesome (good as original) overlays. AX
Hyper_Eye #11 Posted March 18, 2009 The die cutter is HERE! Soon I'll be able to offer awesome (good as original) overlays. AX Awesome! I have an overlay for one copy of Doom but i need one for the other. There are also a few games that have no overlay but really needed one. Syndicate is a perfect example of this. ZylonBane #13 Posted March 20, 2009 Are you incapable of just learning what keys do what? The Jag version uses the exact same number keys for weapons as the PC version does.
Hyper_Eye #14 Posted March 20, 2009 Are you incapable of just learning what keys do what? The Jag version uses the exact same number keys for weapons as the PC version does. Are you incapable of asking a question in a non-insulting way? The functionality of it isn't really the point. The game comes with an overlay and the lack of one makes the game incomplete. A non-original isn't a perfect replacement but it is something. I personally like the overlays and I use them if the game has one. With Syndicate it is just hard to remember all the buttons. ZylonBane #15 Posted March 20, 2009 With Syndicate it is just hard to remember all the buttons. That would be relevant if this thread was about Syndicate. And yes, the functionality IS the point.
Hyper_Eye #16 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) With Syndicate it is just hard to remember all the buttons. That would be relevant if this thread was about Syndicate. And yes, the functionality IS the point. I mentioned Syndicate earlier in the thread. And I don't give a rats ass what you think the point is. Someone might care what you think if you weren't a jerk everywhere you go. The guy didn't ask if he should get an overlay or what someone thought about the overlay or his competence. He asked where he can get one. So your the one missing the point. Edited March 21, 2009 by Hyper_Eye
+orpheuswaking #17 Posted March 21, 2009 Hey there is a thread over on JSII with a bunch of remade overlays...
ls650 #18 Posted March 21, 2009 What's wrong with wanting the overlay? Is it any worse than wanting the box or the manual for a complete collection item?
ZylonBane #19 Posted March 21, 2009 Maybe if so many of the posters here weren't so pathologically dense, I wouldn't always be so cranky. Read the bloody title of this thread-- "I really need a Doom overlay". Not want... NEED. What could he possibly NEED the overlay for, if not to play the game? You all were so intent on tripping over each other to be the mostest helpfulest, that nobody thought to question the premise. If upon deeper consideration it turns out that he does not, in fact, need the overlay, then that's the most helpful post of all.
ls650 #20 Posted March 21, 2009 So you know for a fact that the subject of the thread is not "I really need a DOOM overlay" but "I really NEED a DOOM overlay".... I see....
Hyper_Eye #21 Posted March 21, 2009 I don't see why there was any need to question the premise. Even if there was you can go about it without being an ass. Why do you care for what he reason he feels he needs the overlay? The guy didn't ask what people thought about his desire to obtain an overlay. He asked where he can get one. I didn't see people tripping over themselves to help the guy. I saw Jag fans answering a Jag question in a Jag forum. I won't disagree with the idea that there are a few dense people on this forum. You will find that anywhere you go. But I can't go around assuming people are dense. What a miserable existence that would be. I wait for people to prove they are dense and then call them out on it just like I did you. If you don't like the people here then take a hike. I don't think anyone is going to mourn the loss of ZylonBane.
