1040 STF: i want to add an RF modulator for TV use

hi all

 

i have a working 1040 STF motherboard, now of course these didn't have the RF modulator so they couldn't be used with a TV

 

anyway i have a spare old type RF modulator from an early ST which was the larger type in a big silver box (this incorporated the RF modulator and circuit) and this fits straight in the blank space in the 1040 STF

 

on the 1040 STF there are afew resistors and transistors in place of the where the modulator should go

 

what i wanted to know is can i just simply solder in the modulator? or do i need to remove anything or add anything?

 

surely someone has done this at sometime
