xbox live upgrade question

Recommended Posts

I searched microsoft's site, and found it to be no help.

When I bought the 360 we got the 1-month gold membership. It ran out, today I upgraded over the net to Gold. There was a special 12M deal for only $39.99.

Anyway, I'm gold but my son's gamertag still reads silver. I thought the account handled multiple users? Can I only have 1 user on my 360 for a gold account? (seems a ripoff if so)

The gold account is tied to one gamertag.

They could tie it to the console I guess, but then people wouldn't be able use it if they had multiple consoles or if they went to someone elses house.

Yeah, I've been Googling around and just read that elsewhere too. I guess that all the gamertags we created with the trial membership got a free 1-month gold, and they've all expired.

BUT, there's a workaround. If you don't mind about gamerscore, you can just make another gamertag under another e-mail address and get another month of gold. Easy peasy. Just make a random Yahoo mail to activate things, and you're good to go!

I wish they'd sell a "family" gold membership or something...I dunno how they'd do it though. There's 3 gamertags in my house, and 2 xbox 360's...

I just paid for 2 gamertags. $39.99+tax * 2. Once it posts to the bank statement, wifey poo is gonna holler. ;)

I have 2 going as well, one for me and one for my girlfriend.

I lucked into snagging two of the 12 month + 1 month free cards for $29.99 each around Xmas.
