smf_4ever #1 Posted September 20, 2002 Have you ever.... seen so many cheap, little (like $3) 2600 games on ebay.. and just starting putting bids on a bunch of crap??? than realized that if for some odd reason you won them all... without shipping you would be over $130?!?!?... I really need to manage my self better. lol... I dont want to end up like some of you!!!!.. lmao
CrazyImpmon #2 Posted September 20, 2002 People are known to pay over $5 for a Combat just because he/she didn't have that particular label variation. You better start praying your wallet never goes empty at an inconvenient time. I once had to pass up a boxed NES, boxed ROB, CIB Gyromite and 20 other boxed NES games simply because I didn't have $100 back then. And no the ATM machine wouldn't be of any help because I *didn't* have $100.
BatmiteReturns #3 Posted September 21, 2002 Actually.....yes. I bid on a bunch of rare Mego Batman toys and lo and behold, I won the majority of them. Now to explain that to my wife.................
Ze_ro #4 Posted September 21, 2002 Once, I ran out of spaces in my "Watch This Item" list, so I just put an opening bid on something, expecting it to be beaten (but at least I'd be able to see it in my "My eBay" page. Time went on, and no one else was bidding on it, and I started to think that I didn't really want it, since the guy didn't accept PayPal, only BidPay (which I didn't want to have to bother figuring out for one measly game. Luckily, someone ended up outbidding me at almost the last minute... saved by a sniper On a side note, I ended up buying a bunch of games from the guy anyways, and the transaction ended up going very well... the guy could even accept credit card payments directly, so I didn't need to worry about a 3rd party (like PayPal) skimming a few cents off the top for themselves! --Zero
dwh #5 Posted September 21, 2002 Some times I get confused and win something I already got(and hope the label is better,so it's not a total waste)I only pay with a personal check so that it delays the transaction 10-15 days, so that I can keep putting some money in the bank.Only had one check bounce, but it was for $225 or so,at least it wasn't a fee of $8 on a $5 check...sometimes 30 items just ain't enough to watch stuff on ebay, but I just make sure that if I put a "watch this bid" in that it's for an item that will accept a check...And yes sometimes I log in and see a bunch of stuff that I've won and say "whoh",but usually it's stuff I wanted to win anyway;but 10 to 12 items can add up, especially if you can not combine shipping.
