8 bit Computer versions of Sinistar?

Recommended Posts

Are there any conversions of Sinistar for any 8 bit computers?

I know there is an excellent one for the CoCo 3 and the unreleased proto for the Atari... but other than those was it converted to any other 8 bit machines or were there any other unlicensed clones?

I always loved the arcade version but thought it was a bit too difficult. (it got pretty stingy with the things to make sinibombs)

According to Wikipedia there's a version for the BBC Micro called Deathstar:

I looked for Deathstar and actually found a different BBC game of that name.

Either the original Atarisoft game leaked out or people hacked the other "Deathstar" to include the Atarisoft logo.

BTW, the Atari 8 bit review says there is a color glitch on the death screen but it's supposed to be like that.

The BBC version is not that bad. The graphics and game play look pretty sweet. Only annoying thing is the sound effects were not that great. And noticed there was no voices.

I've have played the Coco 3 version countless times. It has far better graphics and Sound effects, Except I find the game play a tad to slow compared to the BBC version. So imagine what it would be like if it was rewritten to use the native mode in the 6309 chip. Then it would be a excellent clone. Now we just have to find out who the authors were for the coco 3 version.
