STGuy1040 #1 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) I’m in the process of rebuilding my classic videogame collection after getting married about 3 years ago. Aside from my modern video game system collection (i.e. like the Xbox 360, Nintendo WII, and Nintendo DS), my collection is fairly small, but I have been slowly rebuilding it piece-by-piece. I purchased an Atari Jaguar from thegoldenax some time ago and haven’t regretted it. I love the system! My collection also includes an Atari 2600 (of course), Nintendo 64, a Sega Dreamcast, and a Neo-Geo CD. I will be purchasing a Sega Genesis this Wednesday from a board member, and I can’t wait to play it. I have a long list of systems to purchase but I can’t decide on what to buy next. What is next on your list to purchase? My next purchase might be a Turbografx-16 with CD-Rom attachment but we’ll see! -Mike Edited March 29, 2009 by STGuy1040
akirahedgehog #2 Posted March 29, 2009 I've actually been starting to think I have enough game systems for a while after finally getting a Super NES recently and a Sega Nomad back in January. If I could get anything right now I think I'd want a TurboGrafx-16 CD-ROM attachment or a Jaguar CD attachment though.
STICH666 #3 Posted March 29, 2009 Be careful with the Turbografx 16 CD. They're very hard to find working. I plan on getting a 7800 or a Wii.
DaytonaUSA #4 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) I just got a PipPin, Panasonic Q, and Nintendo 64 DD with every game except Japan Pro Golf and Doshin 2 (complete, everything in boxes which includes the mic and mouse for the Mario Artist games.. some CIB). I think I'm good for now Edited March 29, 2009 by DaytonaUSA
Segataritensoftii #5 Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) The Atari Lynx. There was nothing quite like it in it's day, and the selection of games was rather good. But lately, my interests have been shifting more towards 1980s and early 1990s computers as of late, so the Lynx may be my last classic game system for a while. The next frontiers will be the Amiga, the C64, the Atari 8-bit computers, the Tandy CoCo 3, the Apple IIGS, and classic PC DOS games (I plan on getting a Tandy 1000RSX for these, if at all possible.). jboypacman #6 Posted March 29, 2009 I am thinking about maybe getting a Super Famicom and a few games at some point this year once i have the extra funds.

STGuy1040 #9 Posted March 29, 2009 Be careful with the Turbografx 16 CD. They're very hard to find working. I plan on getting a 7800 or a Wii. I'll take your advice into consideration when I finally decide to purchase a Turbografx 16 CD-Rom player. They're not cheap by any stretch of the imagination and it would be a nightmare if it arrived DOA!

edweird13 #11 Posted March 29, 2009 I would really like to get a Sega Saturn or a Atari Lynx.
16-bit #12 Posted March 30, 2009 Definitely a Sega CD. I've been trying to track down one in good condition at a reasonable price. After that I'll probably hold off on systems for a while, unless I see a good deal on a Lynx.
+Ransom #13 Posted March 30, 2009 Colecovision is the next up for me. But that won't be until next winter, when I start collecting again.
shadow460 #14 Posted March 30, 2009 Next on the list: either an Atari Lynx 1, an Intellivision, or maybe a 1000 series PS1 if I can't keep mine working. Out of those, I'll probably fix the PS1 I have, and I don't have room for an Intellivision, so I'll probably buy the Lynx I next. Either that or I'll just move the couch out of our living room and use the space for a Virtual On cabinet.

ApolloBoy #16 Posted March 30, 2009 Right now I'm looking at either a CD32 or a TI-99/4A.
the maddestman #17 Posted March 30, 2009 My quest is just beginning and there is so much to collect! Same here. I used to have a bigger collection (at one stage my collection included an Atari 400, Commodore Vic20, Amiga 1200HD40, Amiga 500, CD32, SEGA Master system Plus, Sega game gear), but that was years ago and all those are now gone, so will be starting again. My "to get" list includes (but is not limited to): Atari 800 Atari 7800 Atari Lynx Atari Jaguar Super Nintendo Sega Dreamcast
darthkur #18 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) What I plan on getting and what I actually will end up with, a lot of times, are two different things. On my "to get" list are: an Acorn BBC-B Micro, Acorn Electron, Thomson MO5, Sharp X68000, VTech CreatiVision, SpectraVision SVI-328 and a Coleco Adam. The bad thing is that they're almost all import systems with huge shipping rates. An AdventureVision would be great too but I'm just not that lucky. Ah yes, the Amiga computer... I'm interested in the Amiga CD32 but the prices are insane. I am dumping mine shortly on fleabay. too hard to get stuff to work. even with the floppy drive added. just very picky. aga is probably why.keyboard is hard to find unless you want an a3000kb,expensive but some games need it and the controllers are pretty bad. I did have high hopes for it and was going to d/l a cd full of games so I could boot it and just play. It can be a cool project but most of the games I want for it it already have the actual arcade machine for.It really needs something like sdrive nuxx. That said I am thinking of getting a TG16 again. Had a brand new Turbo Express w/tv tuner but sold it about 8 years ago. The console would be nice though. Edited March 30, 2009 by atarian63
atarian63 #20 Posted March 30, 2009 I would really like to get a Sega Saturn or a Atari Lynx. Saturn is fun! I set mine up a few weeks ago and I have the cart so I can play japanese game. Japan games are really cheap on ebay now for some titles like manx TT.Excellent motorcycle game! It's fun to play all the stuff I missed back in the day. nathanallan #21 Posted March 30, 2009 I'm thinking maybe a Wii, Tandy Coco 2 or 3 (or both), and something handheld, haven't really decided what yet.
Reaperman #22 Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) probably an FC mobile 2 and whatever that upcomming mobile genesis is. Edited March 30, 2009 by Reaperman
snorlaxnut #23 Posted March 30, 2009 Atari Lynx. Got at least 6 games for it, but no system. Also want a PS2, got almost 2 dozen game demo discs for it, still no system.
famicommander #24 Posted March 30, 2009 Jag CD, 5200, Turbo CD, N-Gage QD, Bandai SwanCrystal, PS3, Xbox 360, DSi, Neo Geo CD, and Magnavox Odyssey^2. Not necessarily in that order.
muchomojo #25 Posted March 30, 2009 I'm thinking Sega CD or Gamecube. I saw a GC at Goodwill a couple weeks ago but it was just the bare console. Sooner or later I'll find one.
