ataridave #1 Posted March 31, 2009 I know that Vectrex games are public domain (at least those that aren't homebrews), but the only Vectrex emulator that I can locate is DVE, which is DOS-based. I've never used DOS; are there any other Vectrex emulators out there??

I've never used DOS; are there any other Vectrex emulators out there?? There are several, but a really good one is ParaJVE. It's Java based so you need to download and install the Java runtime if you don't already have it on your PC. There are ParaJVE versions for Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux. You can download ParaJVE at http://www.vectrex-emu.blogspot.com/ An article (by me) giving an overview of its capabilities can be found in Video Game Trader page 11-18 at this address: http://content.yudu.com/Aloxw/VGTrader8/re...der%2Findex.htm The nice thing about ParaJVE compared to the other Vectrex emulators is that it is still actively supported by its author. ParaJVE has been updated to version v0.6.0. This includes new functionality such as light pen emulation via the mouse (so you can play Art master and Melody master) and VecVox (the homebrew Vectrex voice synthesizer) regards VectrexMad! user42 #3 Posted April 1, 2009 Some versions of MESS emulate it quite well. There is a "Vectrex GameBase" here that has Mess and everything in one download... http://www.gb64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4170 It can be alittle tricky to set up GameBase if this is your first time (It is an emulator front-end program, FYI), but the end result is a really nice, all-in-one interface for the games. VectrexMad! #5 Posted April 1, 2009 I've got my ParaJVE set at the default of 60 FPS. Any lower than 50 FPS and the games are noticeably slower then on a real Vectrex. regards VectrexMad!
