STICH666 #1 Posted April 4, 2009 I mean they actual cart you owned back in the day. Well I was just at Play-N-Trade and I found my old Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins as well as my Top Gear cart for the SNES with my initials faded on the back. Damn was I happy. Glenn Jupp #2 Posted April 4, 2009 Hasn't happened to me (yet), but I think there should be a second part to this question. Have you ever found one of YOUR old games at a used games store... and then re-bought it?
STICH666 #3 Posted April 4, 2009 Yeah that's what I'm asking.
aftermac #4 Posted April 4, 2009 Never happened to me. Did you pay more to re-buy it than you sold it for?
STICH666 #5 Posted April 4, 2009 Never happened to me. Did you pay more to re-buy it than you sold it for? No i sold it back when it was about 2 or 3 years old. I gt them both for $5 each.
NE146 #6 Posted April 4, 2009 Not I.. that would have required me selling off, or getting rid of my video game items in the first place.
STICH666 #7 Posted April 4, 2009 I'm still looking for my SNES. Seeing as I can find 2 of my games in the same store, I could see that somebody has most of my stuff in the area.
Wickeycolumbus #8 Posted April 4, 2009 I've never sold games I bought new, so I guess it will never happen for me. I can imagine it is a great reunion though
STICH666 #9 Posted April 4, 2009 I've never sold games I bought new, so I guess it will never happen for me. I can imagine it is a great reunion though I shat bricks when I saw it. I didn't even know Super Mario Land was mine until I booted it up and saw the game save.

There was a new save in the 3rd slot but he wasn't very far in.
Zap! #12 Posted April 4, 2009 Besides the game save with a unique name, how would you know it was yours unless you drew on it or something?
STICH666 #13 Posted April 4, 2009 My Top Gear cart had my initials in my 6 year old handwriting. I wrote my initials on the back of almost all of my games.
Mord #14 Posted April 4, 2009 The only thing like that to "happen" to me is the n64 memory card transfer thing I owned, a dex drive or something. Of course the reason I see it in the store is because they haven't sold it since I sold it to them. I may buy it back from them one day. I mean, it -is- boxed and complete. KrazyKaiju #15 Posted April 4, 2009 I've never found one of my games, but I did find one of my old AD&D modules at a used book store in North Carolina. I had sold it 14 years earlier as a kid in Florida. My penciled in DM notes were still in the margins.

Chickybaby #18 Posted April 4, 2009 I was thinking that very thought when I read the title of the thread. I also have a bad habit of not parting with books as well which is probably how I have at least 1800 as of the last count, and 580 DVDs, bout 80 VHS tapes... well, you get the idea. Not I.. that would have required me selling off, or getting rid of my video game items in the first place. Same here. It's really awesome how you guys found your old stuff. I would have had to buy it back, just because. Were there anyone else's notes in that book besides yours? And had anyone beaten any of your high scores? shadow460 #19 Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) I found one that I had repaired for sale in a used game store. I took it in to them as a non working cart. I told them that it did, in fact, work, but since they had labeled it as non working before and I had opened the case that I didn't think it could be sold. It had a dead save battery, but the board was in excellent shape, so I took the board out, purchased a new save battery, and installed into into one of my carts. I instaled my old save battery so that the tabs were held to that board by the cart case, then hauled it back to the game store. Heck, they'd given it to me free since they thought it didn't work. A week later it was in the showcase with a $4.95 price tag on it. Edited April 4, 2009 by shadow460
Crazy Climber #20 Posted April 5, 2009 I found my distortion pedal at a pawn shop, it was stolen from me. Long story but I eventually was asked to leave, never got my pedal, never found out who sold it to them

zeropolis79 #22 Posted April 12, 2009 Yes. After a former best friend stole some of my old 8-bit games, I took to marking my future games with a letter of the Greek alphabet plus my initials in a uniqute way. After my cousin and his best friend stole a ton of games from me when I was dying in hospital, I later found the games in a second hand game shop in the area.
