Elerach #1 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Hey, i just recently bought a modded xbox (hard modded 320 gb hd ) but playing on emulators and 2d fighters just is not the same with the xbox's crappy d-pad I've searched a bit and came up with nothing. does anyone know of a store or website that sells arcade sticks for the original xbox, or even adaptors or modded classic controllers? (i know that one is not very likely) Thanks in advance, Elerach *edit* i know of the X-Arcade, but the price is a bit too steep for me. CGQuarterly #2 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) This isn't what you want to hear, but the best thing (or one of the best things) to get would be a MAS Systems stick. You can check it out here: http://www.massystems.com/ProStick.html You would have to call and see if they make an XBox compatible one (or just buy one and then get a PS2 -> Xbox adapter). Pricey, but you get good components and you have options to customize it. Trust me, you get what you pay for with arcade sticks, and I would rather have no stick at all than have a crappy one. You can also start keeping an eye on Craigslist and eBay for a Street Fighter Anniversary edition stick. They are compatible with both PS2 and XBox. The components aren't quite as good, but they are good enough. The price has been going up on that one though, so you may not be able to find one for a good price. You can also build one yourself, but that's a lot of work and you need to have the right tools to do it properly. I just want something simple, an 8-button arcade stick with a joystick

darthkur #8 Posted April 15, 2009 I have the Soul Calibur II stick and although it works great playing arcade compilations on both the PS2 and GC it doesn't work correctly with the arcade emulator on my soft modded x-box. I can't say if it works with normal games on the x-box since all I have is the Star Wars/Tetris "live edition" disc and the console only gives me the option for the live versions for some reason. mckafka99 #9 Posted April 15, 2009 I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Pelican-Accessories-...x/dp/B0001XFLV4 which is pretty nice. (was also able to hack a usb cable onto it to use on a pc before I got the XArcade super tank) Price may a bit high though on Amazon, I didnt pay that much for mine a few years ago when I got it

Giltygear #11 Posted April 16, 2009 word of caution about those sticks: replace the stick and the buttons. the stock ones are SHIT
CGQuarterly #12 Posted April 16, 2009 word of caution about those sticks: replace the stick and the buttons. the stock ones are SHIT See, that's the thing. That's why I'm saying that you might as well just buy a good one from the outset. If you can't afford to drop $100 on a good one now, save your money for a little while until you can. If you are going to buy an arcade-style stick, then you might as well buy one that feels just like the real thing (because it's made of the same parts.)
