working atr's and xex downloads

can someone point me to a good reliable spot for downloading , most of the games im downloading seem to be bad files.? im using them on my sio2sd i just received it today, and it seems like most i download are either not fully working or not at all. any help? am i doin something wrong?

If you aren't having luck with the first two, you likely are doing something quite wrong.

example . donkey kong. loads to nothing but a black screen? what makes me think im not doin something wrong is some work some dont and im doin it the same way everytime?

Do you hold OPTION key during booting computer? Most programs require BASIC to be off and pushing OPTION does such a thing.

I just downloaded Donkey Kong (both rom and xex) from the Atarimania and Fandal sites, and they both worked just fine under 800xl emulation. So the files are good.
