Brilliant marketing at Best Buy

Recommended Posts

I was in Best Buy yesterday just browsing since it was next to the store I needed to go to. I went back to the video game section, which is probably kind of strange for someone who posts here, but anyway.......I decide that I'll take a look at the 360 demo machine out of curiosity to see how much better some of my games would look in HD. I get to the 360 and the screen is off so I look down at the machine and it's got 3 red lights blinking on it. I thought it was hilarious that the machine had RROD. That's the most realistic demo I have ever seen.

So well put ;).

I'm kinda wondering why they didn't unlock the kiosk and turn off the system. I can't image the thought process of the employee who thought it was a good idea to simply turn off the tv, but not the broken system.

why would it be strange for you to go to check out the games???

i dare say that most people here play modern systems in addition to old school.i personally have a wii,360 and ps3.i could be wrong though.

p.s. i am on my second 360 :x

I actually misstated. The screen wasn't totally black, it was reporting that it was getting no video from the 360. After that I went to another part of the video game section and they had 2 360s up for playing and both of those worked.

How strange. I was at my local Best Buy a few weeks ago and the 360 they had on display also had the RROD. I guess Best Buy don't know how to take care of their stuff

Did they have their console in a clear plastic case? I'm thinking Best Buy did but I might be misremembering. That would be the absolute worst way to show off a 360 due to airflow issues.

Sad but funny. It would be an interesting collection of photos if you can get the store logo in there especially and list what state. I wonder how common it is. :ponder:

I remember all the kiosks being that way. The Acrylic Case of Death.

Probably very.

I've seen it this MANY a time myself. At Kmart, Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, other places. They are always inside a small clear plastic box with no airflow.
