Spoon #1 Posted September 25, 2002 This is probably a stupid question for you all, but I'm new at this... I was looking at some carts for sale on the 2600 and came across a copy of Megamania II (on the same cart as River Raid III). I've heard about a possible sequel back in the day, but didn't think anything had been released. Just wondering what the deal was with the game. Looks like it was released by Shock Vision. Hackmann #2 Posted September 25, 2002 Pirates would often take games with similarish gameplay (airplanes, space ships, etc.) as popular games and relabel them as sequels. Megamania II is undoubtedly some other shoot-em-up game in bootleg form. IIRC somebody else found a River Raid III and verified that it was a bootleg. Albert #3 Posted September 25, 2002 Yeah, you can pretty much assume that if you run into a strange title like that and it was put out by a third-party in a country other than the US, it's probably a pirate title. There are so many bootleg variations of existing games that it's difficult to make sense of them at times. I assume the cart you are talking about is a 4-in-1 that has the games Megamania 2, River Raid III, Seaquest, and Super River Raid? If not, then it'd be great to get a scan of it so we can add it to the list of Shock Vision titles in our database. ..Al
