Simon #1 Posted April 24, 2009 Hello, is there an emulator available for playing Atari VCS right on a website games on a website? I envision a website window in which a predefined .bin files is able to being played using the cursor keys. Is there any emulator running directly on a website (Java, or something similar)? It would be really great if I could present my own games playable at http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ Thank you! Simon
Impaler_26 #2 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) You can use JStella. It's used on Atarimania and Spiceware's site: http://ww.spiceware.org/atari_homebrews_online.html http://www.atarimania.com/2600/dumps/play.php?ID=7304 EDIT: JStella Thread Edited April 26, 2009 by Impaler_26
+SpiceWare #3 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) If you view the source at my site you'll see how to set up multiple games on the same page. Turn the console off to select a different game, turn the console back on to play the selected game. Each game's instructions also get loaded in a block below the Atari. turned off: new game selected, instructions updated: Heads up - there's an issue with JStella and Safari 4 Beta - the display is stretched and clipped: I found that resizing the browser window fixes the problem: It works correctly in WebKit so I expect the official Safari 4 release will work OK. There's also a problem with Internet Explorer - it gives the java display too much room which cracks Nathan's TV. Safari and Firefox on Windows work OK. I haven't worked around it because Microsoft's not worth the trouble Edited April 27, 2009 by SpiceWare

I think you're using an old version of Thrust, or at least I'm not hearing the title music.
+SpiceWare #6 Posted April 28, 2009 This looks great!! :-) Thanks! I worked with Mauvila quite a bit to get all the javascript support in place, and Nathan was kind enough to send me hi-res versions of Artie and Anna to use. It took quite a while to chop up the images, which is why I've blown off fixing the broken TV in Internet Explorer. I think the way to fix it would be chop out a taller section in the middle of the TV and set the background color for that cell of the table to be black. Before Artie and Anna I didn't use anything for the TV and had generic arrow graphics for the console. The arrows are still visibile on the dedicated Medieval Mayhem and Stay Frosty pages. +SpiceWare #7 Posted April 28, 2009 I think you're using an old version of Thrust, or at least I'm not hearing the title music. You're right - the online one is v 1.2 while my cartridge is v 1.8. I've stuck a note on my monitor to track down the right ROM it.
