Primordial Ooze #1 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) I am creating a new game for the atari 2600. The game is really simple. You control a paddle and try to prevent the ball from reaching the bottom of the screen. As long as the ball doesn't touch the bottom of the screen you get a point. Every 1000 points the ball gets faster until it eventally you miss. When it you it's gameover and the score and highscores are shown. You can then press the game reset switch to restart the game. Devin #3 Posted April 30, 2009 Do you a mockup? That would help us conceptualize your game.
Primordial Ooze #4 Posted April 30, 2009 Um, my mockup is as i explained above. I'm still looking for names so pm me any ideas you can come up with. ________
retrozoneorg #5 Posted April 30, 2009 I have a few suggestions: "Bottom Protection!" "Edgy!" or "Don't Go There!"
Devin #6 Posted April 30, 2009 I had a pong system when I was kid that had something similar. It was basically Breakout without the bricks. On my game console, it was called "Handball".
Primordial Ooze #7 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) I have a few suggestions: "Bottom Protection!" "Edgy!" or "Don't Go There!" Sorry those are all taken by respective sites. Any other ideas? ______ EDIT: This project has been abandoned due to copyright reasons. Edited April 30, 2009 by Primordial Ooze
+GroovyBee #8 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) That didn't last long . In most projects I've worked on it's given an internal code name so everybody knows what is being talked about. Towards the end of the project a name is choosen for "public consumption". Then you worry about website, copyright and trademark infringement issues. Even then, the project will probably still be talked about using its old code name within the company. How about taking that approach? Primordial Ooze #9 Posted May 10, 2009 Yep, i came up with a code name: Cell Wall Rebound. As far as the project goes it has been reinstated, and is currently being developed. Sincerely, Cell Wall Rebound
+atari2600land #10 Posted May 10, 2009 I thought this project was abandoned. Now it's active again? Also, why do you change your screen name for every project? Why not just choose one not project-exclusive and stick with it?
Primordial Ooze #11 Posted May 11, 2009 Sorry about that, i did what GroovyBee said and thus made my project active again. So what exactly do you suggest my one-time screen name be? Sincerely, Cell Wall Rebound
