SoundGammon #1 Posted May 6, 2009 Hope I describe this well enough... I have an old Rampage cabinet that I plan to put a 25" RGB monitor with 3 systems in it. PS2, XBOX and MAME. I plan to wire the control panel to a couple of PS controllers and use adapters to the XBOX and pc for MAME. My problem, I want to put a plunger on the front right to use for the pinball games. I want to interface it to one of the analog controls to simulate "pulling back" the plunger. I thought about mounting a hacked PS2 controller to the plunger unit and using a rubber band to tie onto the plunger on one side and the analog controller on the other. Anyone do any thing like this before? Any thoughts or ideas before I start? Thanks, Rob
Cassidy Nolen #2 Posted May 6, 2009 Why not just use a real pinball plunger and mount a heavy duty contact set inside the machine? That way you could wire it to one of the buttons on your controller (parallel and you could use the button somewhere else). HTH, I am sure someone has a spare somewhere. Mark Wolfe #3 Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) I've never considered doing pinmame on my machine but it is an interesting proposal. I can tell you there are some good pre-made interface devices for wiring an xbox 1 to an arcade cabinet. check it out: http://www.ultimarc.com/xba.html I also saw something similar on ebay recently. search for "jamma xbox" to find it. if you soft mod your xbox you can run all the emulators including mame on it with the "big ass emulator" collection which is regularly posted on usenet. if you upgrade the hard drive to a bigger drive you can run it all from the HD including any retail games you want to play. no more dvd swapping. same can be said for the PS2 with HDAdvance I think with just those two consoles, you won't need a PC in there.
