shadow460 #2 Posted May 9, 2009 Possibly. I don't think the colored controllers came out until after the Dual Shock 1. I could, however, be mistaken. The model numbers are the best way to tell. What's the model number and revision on the back?
shadow460 #4 Posted May 9, 2009 Two of them showed up for sale on ebay on the very first search page when I Gogled it. It may still have been packed with a Net Yaroze, but I believe that model number is for the typical non analog PS1 controller.
STICH666 #5 Posted May 10, 2009 Either way it looks cool. I just wanted to know if it was worth more than the $2 I spent on it.
Wickeycolumbus #6 Posted May 10, 2009 IIRC, the Net Yaroze controllers are rubberized. Is this one?
STICH666 #7 Posted May 10, 2009 No. I've never heard of them being rubberized.
Wickeycolumbus #8 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) No. I've never heard of them being rubberized. Well these ones surely look like they are And this auction mentions that the part number is 'DTL-H3010'. Edited May 10, 2009 by Wickeycolumbus

They're not rubberized. They just have a matte black paint.

You can see that it's just a paint job from the reflection of the plastic at the ends of the handles where it's worn. You get the same effect from the PS2 controller. Looking at the differences and the model number, mine might just be either a specialty model or a regular first party colored controller.
shadow460 #12 Posted May 11, 2009 Looks like you've got a colored controller. On the bright side, it's probably worth about $5 or so. Now the best PlayStation controller also comes in black...

That's not a dual analog controller. That's just a black Dualshock.
shadow460 #14 Posted May 14, 2009 Check out SCPH-1150. There were a black and a gray model made, both with the rumble built in and working. I have an SCPH-1180 with working rumble. It's the best PS1 controller, IMO, and it got better when I installed the rumble motor. They do, however, usually compare the DAP to a stock Dual Shock 2 in pictures, just to show the size difference.
