VectorGamer #1 Posted May 13, 2009 What game do you consider to be the most unique that was released up to 1984? My vote would be for Joust - jousting on ostriches, egg collecting, pterodactyls and claws reaching up from the lava coupled with the sound effects make it unique. +Ransom #2 Posted May 13, 2009 Good question. So many good, unique games came out in that period. I'll be interested to see what others say. Off hand, I'd say "Blue Print" might top my list. But really, many of the vector graphics games would qualify (Boxing Bugs, Black Widow, Major Havoc, Tempest), as would many others (Inferno, Domino Man, Bubbles, Electric Yo-Yo, Lasso, Reactor, Tapper...) Segataritensoftii #3 Posted May 13, 2009 I will say that I particularly like Quantum, and found it pretty original.

Lord Thag #5 Posted May 14, 2009 M.U.L.E. Nothing like it before or since, and it's still one hell of a fun game.

VectorGamer #11 Posted May 14, 2009 I think Qix was a pretty unique game and I really enjoyed the concept. Ooh, yeah, good call. I forgot about that one, and it's one of my faves! I played Qix in the arcade only a few times and didn't really like it. I gave it a second chance when I purchased a cart for the 5200 and I now find it addicting similarly to Pepper II, which is another Exidy game, btw!
