cimerians #1 Posted May 14, 2009 Wolfenstein 3D Are they releasing this game? Anyone know for sure? If so I may get it if its cheap, for some reason I always get hooked on old ID stuff.
Atariboy #2 Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) Its long been rumored, but nothing officially has ever been announced. That Xbox website page seems to confirm its in the pipeline. If you're interested, I believe that Wolfenstein game that came out last generation for the Xbox had Wolfenstein 3D as a unlockable for winning the game. The game sucked (I thought) and I never felt like suffering enough to beat it to access Wolf3D, but it's there I believe and is also backwards compatible for 360's. moycon #3 Posted May 14, 2009 If released, I would snag this as well. I just hope it's 400 points or they can keep it.
IronMongeR #4 Posted May 15, 2009 I'll probably get it, but I'm not paying any more than 400 points!
CGQuarterly #5 Posted May 16, 2009 There's no way that this isn't at least 800 points. I'll stick to playing this game on my DOS machine. Chris

Chris I think it would be more accurate to say they don't release any popular title for under 800 points anymore.
Atariboy #7 Posted May 17, 2009 Looks like 1up spotted the same product page. They speculate it could be released during E3. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3174253

moycon #9 Posted May 30, 2009 Awesome! Going to be getting this one for sure. (Provided they don't rape us points wise)
Elw00d #10 Posted May 30, 2009 As a couple have mentioned before, 400 will be my price point for me to pick it up.
Atariboy #11 Posted May 30, 2009 I'd be willing to go up to 800 if they include the expansion/sequel (Spears of Destiny?). Though even then, I'd probably hold off hoping for a sale someday until its closer to 400. Not much of a chance for it being 400, wasn't Doom 800 points way before the current trend away from many 400 point titles?
Atariboy #12 Posted May 30, 2009 Release date confirmed as June 3rd, and much to my surprise, its priced at 400 MSP like it should be. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6210554.html?...adlines;title;
moycon #13 Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) Doom was 400 points from day one if I remember correctly. If you ask me MOST of the Live games should be 400 points. Edited May 30, 2009 by moycon
Atariboy #14 Posted May 30, 2009 Doom launched at 800 points. Long after release, it saw a price drop to 400 points as part of Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade Hits program.

I can't remember but I do remember they dropped the price on several games all at once and made that Arcade Hits. Doom included an online deathmatch mode. I wonder if Wolfenstein will as well. Atariboy #16 Posted May 30, 2009 Did Wolfenstein originally have one? I've only played console ports of it (Like on the Jaguar), and the shareware PC version. If it did, I'd hope they keep it intact even though it will be a ghost town within days of release.
moycon #17 Posted May 30, 2009 Yes that is sad but true. I've often thought about having an AA Arcade night where we pick an old 360 game with multiplayer (Like Doom or Prey) and start a thread and everyone who has that game and is interested in playing can sign up and we'll pick a date and time and have at it. Atariboy #18 Posted May 30, 2009 You should start that, sounds like a lot of fun.
Video #19 Posted May 31, 2009 An XBLA Arcade nite would be cool... As for Wolf, I wasn't aware it was multiplayered. Though, there's no real reason not to, especially since a lot of these games are getting slight bbumps in needed areas when rereleased.
Atariboy #20 Posted June 4, 2009 Seems like a nice port after playing the demo for a while last night, I'll be buying it. The achievements appear like they won't be very difficult to get 200/200 on.

I have a few retail and arcade games i need help getting mutiplayer achievements on. How about 2 nights... the more options for days the better chance we'll have hooking up with other AA members. I vote for Wednesdays and Sundays... @ about 6pm till 10pm....Eastern time.. -rick
Atariboy #22 Posted June 5, 2009 That sounds fun, anyone have a list of XBLA titles that support at least 4 players? Worms might be a fun one to kick things off with. I'm pretty much game for anything, I own most of the classic XBLA titles (Except the fighters like UMK and Street Fighter, and haven't bought Duke Nukem 3D yet), and most of the decent XBLA titles. Prey sounds fun, was reading some reviews of it after seeing it mentioned a few times on this board lately. Kind of ignored it upon release since its name sounded so generic I guess I never bothered to read anything about it.
cimerians #23 Posted June 5, 2009 I downloaded it last night played a few levels, got motion sickness and quit. (I tend to run around real fast in the game) Oh well, Ill keep playing it slowly until I finish it but no multiplayer at all it seems.
moycon #24 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) You should start that, sounds like a lot of fun. Yes I agree, unfortunately my work schedule is pretty f'ed up compared to most people. My prime gaming time these days is like right now, say noon to 5pm on any given day (or at like 3am when I get off work) and after 5pm during the week, I'm tied up.
