As someone who laid down the cash for one of these as soon as batari had finished testing and writing numbers on the labels, I can say that these are amazing carts. Supercharger compatability alone is worth the price of admission, and touches like an awesome little loading animation and nicely rendered menu are just the icing on a tasty, tasty cake of gaming goodness. Highly recommended.

There are a few pre-production, numbered Harmony carts left over from the show. I gave them to Albert and he will be selling them here when he returns to Texas. Price is 79.95, plus $5 shipping in USA/Canada and $10 elsewhere. If you wish to reserve a cart, send me a PM and I will keep track of the list of names until Albert gets back.

As for the pre-order list for the production carts, I'm working on getting that together. Check back shortly on that.

HAPPY DAY ! ! !

PM from me too.

Will this include the manuals / label on the cart / etc. that the normal production one will?

The label on the production cart will be different (label contest?)

Honestly, we have not even started the manual yet :) However, the Harmony is so simple to use, you can wait until we finish it, and a pdf will be available for free download.

One last annoying question (now that I am all excited and gung ho...)

Are there Starpath ROMS? I have always loaded games from Stella Gets a New Brain, but aren't those .wav files?

Please to be helping as I so badly want to load Starpath games on the Harmony cart.

Just a note - if you wish to play a multiload Starpath games, e.g. Dragonstomper, Mindmaster, Survival Island, Party Mix and others, use the combined binaries (they are around 25k and 33k.)

Yet another question... (sorry)

What is the limit for characters on the names of the .bin files.

For instance, a lot of .bin files look like this:

Artillery Duel (1983) (Xonox - K-Tel Software, John Perkins) (6230, 7210, 06004, 99004) ~.bin

Will that be a problem for the menu?

I personally would rename that file before uploading to the Harmony.

No problem with super-long filenames. However, only the first 24 characters will be displayed in the current version of the menu.

Another thing I should point out is that you may not be able to tell from the menu whether the binary is NTSC or PAL as that is usually at the end of the filename. If you select a game in the wrong TV format, the screen may roll. I recommend deleting the files that you can't use (I personally used Windows "find files or folders" on the SD card, searched for files containing "PAL" and deleted them.)

Hey Batari,

I'm not sure I remember reading this or not, does it have a place where you can connect a USB cable to the cartridge to talk with the SD or did I just come up with that out of thin air (I vaguely remember reading something along those lines . . . .)

Thanks

Same here, just vice versa, except where no adequate PAL version exists.

Regarding Atarimania's ROM collection, I am sure the order of the information contained in the filename can be changed easily.
