I'll listen w/ guarded optimism- while I appreciate the effort of any retrogaming podcast, of the handful I listen to RGR is the only one I willingly skip parts of due to its length.

 

& if the 4-min British "hour" cuts down on the host saying "Genesis is a band, NOT a console" that's just fine.

I skipped LOTS of this month's show, more than ever before IIRC. & that heavy breathing during the interview w/ Jeri Ellsworth makes it unlistenable, despite what UK Mike says moments after. I had my wife listen briefly & she tore the earphones off her head.

 

I wouldnt mind hearing another trip to the flea mkt, then at least I get a kick out of SoCal Mike lowballing the vendors' already low prices.

I'm into the beginning of the bad Jeri Ellisworth review with the heavy breathing. I must admit, it sounds like somebody's boxing the clown to the sound of her voice. I would expect that from the rec.games.video.classicers, but not here.

 

The Sinclar C5 bit didn't really seem to fit into the realm of classic gaming at all.

 

And again, it has these 60+ minute(or so it seems) monolauges. That's one part I never liked about Retro gaming radio in its day. A roundtable discussion is better, not having someone talk about arcade game tech for such a long time. Oh well.

I think I know what I believe to be a common complaint about these podcasts. In the Jerri interview, even with the heavy breathing out, it's literally 90% interviewer talking, 10% interviewee talking. It should be the other way around.
