StanJr #1 Posted May 31, 2009 I've got a 4 switch woody with problematic difficulty switches. They seem to be "stuck" in the A position, but if you wiggle them, you can sometimes get B settings. However, they soon revert back to A. No matter what physical position the switch is in, A or B, you get A settings unless you wiggle. I have manage to wiggle them to the point that I can get B settings to stay, but this problem needs to be addressed (especially if I ever want to play Ghostbusters again) Any help on how to remedy this? Thanks Stan
aftermac #2 Posted May 31, 2009 Spray some contact cleaner into the switches and wiggle them back and forth 50-100 times, or until they don't stick. This has worked for me on many a switch.
StanJr #3 Posted June 1, 2009 physically the switches do not stick, they move/slide just fine, they simply do not alter the difficulty characteristics the way they should.
aftermac #4 Posted June 1, 2009 I would still try using contact cleaner. Even if the switch is moving freely the contacts inside the switch might still be dirty. If cleaning doesn't work, then your probably talking about bad solder joints or bad switches.
tremoloman2006 #5 Posted June 15, 2009 I use Precision Electronics Cleaner from Radio Shack to clean up switches and then give them a quick little spray of WD-40. I do this on all 2600 switches and it works like a charm every time
