Mindfield #4 Posted June 2, 2009 Good luck with the auction. I am sorry to hear that you have to sell your personal collection. Yeah, it's kinda painful, but such is life. To be honest though I just haven't had the time to do much of anything besides work and my iPhone projects; I haven't even broken out the system in a couple of years, so while it was nice knowing it was there for whenever I wanted to break it out, I've had to be realistic and face the fact that I can't forsee any time when I'll be able to. Things are just too hectic right now. That is an awesome lot! Good luck! Thanks. Except for some of the dupes, this was all the stuff I wanted to keep to myself. Happy Bidding Hello old friend. Sorry you have to sell it, but you can allways collect it back, when you have more time. I hope you are doing fine otherwise. I put a little bid on it. I love homebrews. HHW

I love homebrews. HHW Hello to you too. I should start hanging around here again. I miss this place, even if I don't have a collection to talk about. Yeah, most of it I can collect again, though some of it's going to be pretty tough to regain. (The limited editions in particular.) I love the homebrews myself -- that was actually the hardest part of putting this auction up, but ... c'est la vie.
Shawn #8 Posted June 2, 2009 http://shop.ebay.ca/merchant/retrogaming.d...armrsZ1QQ_fromZ Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer + Over 100 Games & Accessories homebrews, prototype reproductions, and more! Eric, Remember that talk we had about me supergluing your hand to a CX-40 a couple years ago? You better still have 2600 in your house or I'll be calling Connie and setting up a "visit". You better still have 2600 in your house or I'll be calling Connie and setting up a "visit". Shawn Heh ... well, let's just say I have plenty of 2600 in virtual space to tide over my 2600 cravings whenever they arise until such time as I can afford (and have the time) to get my collection back piecemeal. I do miss those days, I just haven't had the time to revisit them.

Mindfield #11 Posted June 3, 2009 Welcome back Eric, even if you are just here to flog your shit, lol. Free bump for a great guy. Jeff Thanks. Yeah, I kinda feel guilty for just coming here to "flog my shit" but not being able to talk about my latest acquisitions kinda takes some of the fun out of it. Still though I do miss this place even in spite of a lack of anything resembling a collection anymore.
Chickybaby #12 Posted June 3, 2009 Flogging your shit sounds stinky and very dirty. Try orbitz gum. Good to see you as well and you were always a great guy to deal with! Mindfield #13 Posted June 4, 2009 Flogging your shit sounds stinky and very dirty. Try orbitz gum. I try not to do it in public, but sometimes you're left with no other alternative... Good to see you as well and you were always a great guy to deal with! Thanks. Yeah, we're good, 'cept for the slightly sticky money thing, but we'll live. Chickybaby #14 Posted June 4, 2009 Holy crud I just got a look at that auction and it's purdy. I wish I could just take that Homebrew and Proto section out myself, lol. If I needed the other stuff I would snap it up in a heartbeat especially since you still somehow managed to have a few games I don't! You'd think I would have bought at least one of everything you had by this point! Darn you for holding out!

If I needed the other stuff I would snap it up in a heartbeat especially since you still somehow managed to have a few games I don't! You'd think I would have bought at least one of everything you had by this point! Darn you for holding out! I almost had one of everything at my peak. (Well, almost one of everything released on this land mass, anyway.) Mostly I was missing the really expensive ones. Good times, good times. Yes, I am kind of surprised I still managed to have something you don't, especially since, except for the homebrews, hacks and repros, the rest of it is common to slightly rare. (And even a few of the homebrews/hacks are still available in the AA store.) Mostly I just kept the stuff that were personal favourites or would be incredibly hard to replace. Some of them (most of the dupes) are leftover crappy spares I had lying around.

the.golden.ax #20 Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah, I shoulda just used buy it now, but I didn't know A) if I would win the $2000 lot of 7 games, or B) if you would sell for the BIN outside eBay to save on fees. eBay was the real winner on this one. Makes me sick to think they get $50. AX

Makes me sick to think they get $50. AX I didn't even see a buy it now. When I first saw the auction it was at $100 and something. I haven't been looking like a normaly do. I have been working to much. I wasn't going to be around, So I programmed my Snipe at $301.78 or something like that. If I would have seen the buy it now at $250. I would have snagged it. the.golden.ax #22 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) HA HA... I had a proxy of $301.00 on it for the whole thing... I had to step out for a few hours so I bumped it to $305.00 LOL!!!! The buy it now was originally $299.95 I think... I had just hoped to do the deal out of eBay since it was member to member anyways. It is a steal and a half, and going to an actual collector. I will be selling some of the commons but any homebrew I don't have, or colored cart I don't have is going to be kept in the vaults at the AX household. hhwolfman #23 Posted June 5, 2009 I wouldn't have never bid more Than $250 on this auction, if it wasn't Eric's. I was going to win a few cool Homebrews, I thought I would contribute a few more dollars for a good guy. Bump it up $4 before you leave? OH a wise guy ehhh. Makes me sick to think they get $50. AX For what it's worth, my total fees for this auction were $14, including all listing and final value fees, so it's not that bad. It would have been a couple of dollars more, but eBay's stupid script screwed up when I tried to set a reserve (couldn't close the setting window), and it ended up not adding one. HA HA... AX That's sort of what I was hoping, that it would go to a collector and not a reseller. I had one of those asking about the auction -- dude sells heavy sixers for $150 a pop (eesh!) Being that this is my personal collection with the stuff I had wanted to keep, I wanted to see it go to a good home.

Hey, every little bit helps in this crappy economy. Plus, the money's going to help me get me out of the (admittedly rather small) cycle of debt I've gotten myself into, plus get me a few nice iPhone apps to play and review. (Gotta have some personal gain for such a tragic parting. )
