Cybergoth #1 Posted June 2, 2009 Hi there! Did you just see that in Nintendos E³ conference? Team Ninja doing "Metroid Other M." => http://kotaku.com/5275854/new-metroid-game-announced Greetings, Manuel
vdub_bobby #2 Posted June 2, 2009 Name sucks, but concept seems pretty cool.
DaytonaUSA #3 Posted June 2, 2009 Best thing they showed. No competition.. I like the 2d plain thing they have going every once in a while. We'll see how it turns out.
Pixelboy #4 Posted June 2, 2009 Ridley's in it! Woohoo! It seems Team Ninja is going for something a bit different esthetically, but not too removed from what Retro did. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure! ... But I still want a 2D Metroid game on DS.
Wickeycolumbus #5 Posted June 2, 2009 Even better, 2 new Wii mario games, Super Mario Galaxy 2 (with yoshi!) and New Super Mario Bros Wii
Cybergoth #6 Posted June 2, 2009 Name sucks, but concept seems pretty cool. It's a code saying "Mother", no? And the first letters also say "MOM"
+legeek #7 Posted June 2, 2009 The new Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are both high on my want list... (as is Mass Effect 2)... I wonder if New Super Mario Bros Wii will have decent (or any) online play?
cimerians #8 Posted June 2, 2009 Looks kind of like Ninja Gaiden in some parts (flinging the monsters around). I wonder if they used part of the Giaden engine or something.
vdub_bobby #9 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Here's the trailer...hmmm. How do you embed something from GameTrailers? Anyway; the link: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-metroid-other/50258 Edited June 2, 2009 by vdub_bobby
StanJr #10 Posted June 2, 2009 Very very excited. While I loved the 1st person stuff, I'm just as jazzed about more 3rd platforming as well!
Cybergoth #11 Posted June 3, 2009 How do you embed something from GameTrailers? You copy & paste the embed code and select "HTML On - Auto Linebreak Mode" from the "Post Options" Combobox: Video Games | Metroid: Other M | E3 09: Debut Trailer HD XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii
vdub_bobby #12 Posted June 3, 2009 How do you embed something from GameTrailers? You copy & paste the embed code and select "HTML On - Auto Linebreak Mode" from the "Post Options" Combobox: Thanks. And I'll just say that if this new Metroid is anything like Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)...well... It will be at the top of my list for sure. Ninja Gaiden pretty much ruined every other 3D platformer/brawler for me.
BydoEmpire #13 Posted June 3, 2009 I wonder if New Super Mario Bros Wii will have decent (or any) online play?Sadly, disappointingly, Miyamoto said it will not. Kind of ruins it for me, since I have no one to play locally with. Online multiplayer w/ Wiispeak would have made it a must buy. Still interested, it's a new Mario, but not nearly as much as I would have been. New Metroid looks awesome.
Atariboy #14 Posted June 4, 2009 I think I'll pass, it looks more like Ninja Gaiden with Samus in it than a Metroid game. They should've let Retro Studios develop it.

Man, you've already made your decision based on a short teaser trailer?! Obviously you got a lot more out of that video than I did. Atariboy #16 Posted June 4, 2009 I said "I think I'll pass", not that I will pass. There's room to change my opinion if I'm pleasantly surprised by what they do. In fact I'm hoping I'll end up being wrong, I own every Metroid release and love the series.
MagitekAngel #17 Posted June 5, 2009 This is the first time in years Nintendo had a good suprise. Totally unexpected and totally awesome. I guess Nintendo still makes games after all. Almost makes up for Wii Music. Almost.
Cybergoth #18 Posted June 5, 2009 it looks more like Ninja Gaiden with Samus in it than a Metroid game. Nothing wrong with that Source: http://reiq.deviantart.com/art/Samus-Aran-...-Prime-71656095
DaytonaUSA #19 Posted June 5, 2009 I just hope it's not going to be as hard as Ninja Gaiden to play. I want a challenge, but geez...

Warriorisabouttodie #22 Posted September 27, 2009 this looks awesome, but I hope we see another Metroid Prime eventually. Rumor has it that Retro studio will develop a Metroid FPS for the next gen Nintendo console coming in 2011.

Tr3vor #25 Posted March 3, 2010 the game doesnt use the nunchuck, you cant move in 1st person, and other abnormalitites compared to the other games. i wished that it at least used the nunchuck for analog controll of samus, but you cant
