Spectre GCR manual wanted

Recommended Posts

Nice, thanks for taking the time to do this.

Question. Did the manual come apart easily to be able to scan? I am wondering how to scan manuals that do not come apart and are like a book.

This one was wire bound, like the Compute! 1st (2nd, 3rd) Book Of Atari is. I just snipped the wire binding off. Once it was scanned, I repunched the pages for a plastic comb binding. The 3.0 manual was standard book/magazine binding with 2 staples. The manual was 5.5x8.5 closed. I removed the staples, opened the manual to the middle, making it 8.5x11 and cut the manual down the middle. I was then able to duplex scan the manual after that. I then punched and rebound the manual with the plastic comb binding. A book bound manual, you would have to cut the glue binding off and find a good way to rebind it after scanning. If there is enough space between the edge of the page and the text, you could punch and comb bind it.
